red rocket
Oh yes, there's reams of stuff about this. May of us use Cteks but quite a few have bought the cheaper Lidl version when available. Can deffo charge 987 via cig lighter, not sure on 986 but someone else will no doubt answer. Toddie
Hi i use a CteK MX5 on my 986S, i use the ciggie lighter socket, no problems. Ctek make the Porsche ones in fact they are the same just not Porsche branded.
martinjohn308
I’ve using an Airflow battery conditioner about £40 had it on a Ferrari 308 GTS for 18 years and now on my Boxster 3.2S for 10 years. Excellent product in the garage, hanging on the passenger window and plugged into the cigarette lighter. Has a an LED display on the front. Roger C
Off topic slightly but if anyone has a CTEK charger with a broken mode button (common fault) let me know, I can replace the button and still have few spare buttons left. zadocbrown
I use CTEK. MX5 I think. It works well - maybe cheaper ones are good too but why risk it... I've read conflicting info on charging through cigarette lighter, but it definitely works on my 986.
