Tynesider
Hi Can anyone tell me if the door mirrors on 1998 2.5 986 are able to fold in? I've given mine a bit of pressure doesn't budge, but not sure if they move so before I try applying more pressure thought I better check to see if they are actually supposed to move or are permanently fixed out. I believe they have to fold in to achieve type approval, for pedestrian safety. Could be it hasn't ever been folded for 23 years, so might be a bit stiff. Both the mirrors on my 986 fold in, otherwise it wouldn’t fit in the garage!
Tynesider
Thanks for replies, I think it could be a case of never being moved over the last 20+ years, so will shove a bit harder and hope it doesn't snap off! 😓
frozen
987 does fold - but it's a strong spring and needs quite a shove to bend it in. If you snap one off it wasn't my fault right 😉
some bloke
Yes they do - I gave mine a squirt of wd40 and waited half an hour, and they rotated.
