mileage cost

just as a were abouts  what do you think the cost of around 700, 800 mile trip driven conservatively most being motor way in my 986 2.7

Assuming 30 mpg, 800 miles would a little under 27 gallons and at circa £4.50 per gallon, it would be a little over £120.

thanks pal yes was thinking around that but recon i can get better than 30mpg, or a take my boring VW Polo 1.9sdi ... you only live once so its the Porsche

You could see mid 30s in a 2.7 so £105 to £120.  The Polo will be half that but a tenth of the amount of fun.  Plus can can 'play' in the Boxster from time to time, not an option in the Polo.

FWIW  I get 30/31 on motorways at a sensible cruise speed in my 3.2.  Drops to about 26 in normal, but not thrashed, use.

Hi,  Plymouth to Weston super mare is 90 miles on A38 dual carriage way and M5, at a constant 73 ish MPH I got 40.9 MPG in my 2.7,  I took a photo of the computer as I couldn’t believe it.

You might be able to beat 30 with a 2.7 on mainly Motorway, however I doubt you can get the fuel for £4.50/gallon now, more like £5.  So I think £120 is probably a about right (assuming no other costs are being considered, and no spirited diversions partaken).
