Lost Handbrake Cables...

When redoing my rear suspension, I had to disconnect the handbrake in order to drop the uprights down and get the shocks off.

I've fed the cable back in but I can't get the ends to poke through into the cubby hole bit (they appear to be getting caught on something in there). Does anybody have any tips to feed them back through without having to take the entire centre console off?

Tie a bit of rope to the ends when you remove them?

Wonderful hind sight!  I thought it, but didn't say it...

If you've forgotten, I'd push some garden wire (the green covered steel stuff) through from inside the car. Gaffer tape the handbrake cable to it, and pull through. But a guess, as I've not done it.

Thanks but the cable is already inside the car it is just snagging on something beneath the centre console (and hence I can't get at them).

I think I'll just persevere and keep pushing/pulling until I can see it.
