Anthony Howells
Just got a 2014 Macan S Diesel, and it's my first diesel car with Adblue. Does anyone bother with the premium diesel fuels? Does it have any advantage to general running, or does it matter because Adblue needs low sulphur?
Simo_UK
Lots of threads and debates on premium fuels. Personally never had an issue using Tesco diesel on a 520d. That said, that was a motorway workhorse and had a good run most trips. Our 2019 RR Evoque spends most of its time doing shorter trips. I try to make sure I fill up at least every other tank with premium fuel from Shell or bp for their "cleaning power", according to the marketing guff I'm sure you'll get opposing views here and on other forums. To me its the car equivalent of feeding your kids free range eggs or organic chicken
Menoporsche
My Toyota diesel eventually got gummed up with short journeys. Every year service came with a bottle of fuel additives to put in at the next top up. I don’t know what adblue does, or how long you intend to keep the car. Adblue is introduced post combustion to break down the combustion gases to less harmful ones. It's purely for emissions.
