BenM
I have the opportunity for some new wheels 🙂 I know the fronts will fit. But would an 18" 9.5J rear with an ET40 offset and 265/40/18 tyre work ?  Cheers ! Ben
edc
I think it should be ok as 9j is standard wheel and 265 is standard tyre width on 18 plus you can add 15-20mm spacer without many issues.

Already running spacers, so that's no problem. 40 profile though - too much ?
edc
That's a 987 tyre size. For 986 standard 18" tyre is 265/35.

Ben Ben, as I understand, ET40 will push the wheel 15mm towards the outside, (since the original offset is 55) and 9.5J will add another 25mm (since the original is 8.5). A total of 40mm further towards the outside of the car. Does that sound correct? Regards from Perth Derek

But I think you have doubled the amount that the width change will make. 9.5j is 1inch wider so will add 12mm to each side, so it would be 27mm further out. On the inside they will be 15-12mm i.e. 3 mm further away from the strut
