DaveBM
Hi, does anyone have any experience with getting new keys for a Boxster. When I got the car (from auction) it only had one set of keys, I’ve been onto Porsche Stockport and have quoted me £305 for the key and £140 for programming. Just wondered if there is anyone else out there that can do them or do you have to get them from Porsche. The car is a 2013 981 Boxster. Many thanks
Paul P
As far as I understand it, you need a "code" from Porsche's central system to program new keys for the car (specifically the immobiliser) - so I suspect it's a Porsche only ( or some independents) thing - and the prices will be "similar". For what it's worth, thats approx what it cost me for a new key/remote combo for my toyota about 15 years ago....

Many thanks There are others out there who claim to be able to do it but math works out not dissimilar. Car will need to be in front of whoever does the coding work. Personally I'd take my pride 'n' joy to a Porsche Centre and swallow the Porsche tax on this one. Maybe also an opportunity for them to give the car a free health check if that particular dealer does that (some offer that) ? moonshine
The mobile car coding fella I used to get a new key for my Fiat Ducato campervan who specialises in all marques of car said he would not touch a porsche key and said to use the dealer 👍
