Its an Americanism to say Trunk.  We say Boot.  I'm assuming Frunk is the Front Trunk.

One of the Americanism that really makes sense, trunk that is not frunk.  Dates back to when you strapped your travelling trunk to the back of you car in the earlier parts of last century.  A bit like 'hood' being the hood over the engine, bonnet I suppose is the more quaint English headwear term.
