electric windows will work for approx 20-30 after you remove key. Crazy I know, but it's one of those Porsche things as time goes by, more systems get shut down.
Mine will work with no key, but only when the door open.

There's not a massive difference between a 096/110 battery, but if your leaving the car unused outside for a week or more this time of year, the latter will help.
-
Nothing done to the car, but I finally got a garage to put it in.!
Only a standard 16 X 8 with no power, but a 5 minuite walk from my house, and reasonably cheap rental.
-
It was lovely here too this morning, so took advantage of the fact I didn't get p*ssed last might, and had a nice little 40 mile or so hoon this morning.
Forgotten how bloody nice this car actually is, even though it's my daily driver and I even managed over double the mpg of what I get on my daily commute.

Did my 6 monthly oil change, with filter this time.
Fitted some PIAA wiper blades as I was getting fed up with the Bosch ones that were on the car.
-
Dropped it off at the garage for springs/top mounts/track rod ends and other suspension bits & bobs to be fitted.
-
Failed its mot because of my non airbag steering wheel. Good job I kept the old one. Other then that it passed with flying colours, with just a couple of advisories for brake pipes, and windscreen chips. Well pleased

Replaced the passenger side window regulator. Both sides now on their third, which ain't too bad I guess considering the car is 21 years old.

Thanks for the heads up, the DOT are 0415 and 0716 so Ok I believe. What other sizes could I fit on my my wheels??? A spare set of wheels complete with tyres I purchased from a member here, has, I noted 225/45/R17 on the front with the normal 255/40 on the rear, akways been a puzzel. At the moment I favour the Michelin PS2 option for rears and replace the front Contis when worn with Michelin to match.
225/45 work well on the front, though your contis are fairly new, so yes just replace the rears
-
SC'2's will be ancient (check the DOT) Best to replace all four with something more modern, though your choice will be limited if you stick to 205/255.

Changed the oil. Only 6 months/ 1k miles since the last oil change, but now using the car for work on most days, so the stuff barely gets up to temperature. I did manage a good run afterwards though, where I was rewarded with that unique Porsche aroma after throughly spanking her bottom !

@Jason986S Dish is 90mm.
Yeah, its quite chunky, though the pic makes it look more so.
Was going to fit it today, or at least make up the plate, but only just got out of bed !

Got my poor mans GT3 Cup steering wheel.
Will need to get a shorter boss, or I might be able to modify my existing one, and will be machining up an offset spacer to raise the wheel by
15mm or so...................

£80 for LED Head and sidelight - fitted to my 2003 986 - just pop the old bulbs out an new ones in - no further modification required - so not cheap bit well worth it imho.
Would be interesting to see what make/model they are selling.
I replaced my low beam H7's for LED's a few months ago now, and they are very nice. Wouldn't go back to halogen.
Have a few sets here, and would like to do the high beams as well, but not sure if they will fit yet.

Your toe looked pretty terrible. How longs it been since a geo? Does it feel much better now?
Not great was it.
First geo in my ownership of just over three years and 10k ish miles, though the previous owner had one done not long before I purchased the car.
I had the rear dampers replaced recently and now I know why the car didn't feel any better after having this done.
The garage that did the work didn't have the equipment hence no print off, but I was assured the alignment was ok. Hey-ho.
Yes, it feels like a new car. No more horrible bump steer !

Fitted this today, quite liked the look of the rubber splitter on @Jason986 but the jury's out for the moment?
I think the corners need rounding off a bit. Would look good then
What have YOU done to your 986 today ?
