  1. Thanks mate, yes all working perfectly. The GPS adapter is a little fiddly if you have big hands otherwise not difficult and does what it says on the tin!

Did have the “I hope I haven’t triggered any dashlights” moment as I reconnected battery but all good.

From the pictures you can barely tell it’s gold,   very subtle.   I’m thinking of doing something similar with my wheels, but I’d probably go with a slightly more obvious gold, maybe Aurum or similar (Blue car).

Out of interest, if you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay for your bumper respray? again I’m looking to do similar and would be useful having a price base. pM me if you don’t want to put on open forum.

Neodyme is a great colour, slight bronze hue compared to Aurum

  3. I picked mine up off eBay delivered for £260 - came from a 2017 Cayman. Wheel was brand new and got the GPS harness which you’ll need from China. All in its about £1750, not cheap but will make a huge difference to driving experience.

About to fit, hoping for it to be straight forward.. 🤞

I've finally tried this tonight but I don't think it's worth the hassle or the outlay if you have a sports design wheel. The multifunction controls don't work despite my best coding efforts and I'm not buying a £300 adapter 👎

Will maybe aim for a smaller diameter non MF pdk wheel instead.

I’ve bought the adapter which has arrived already. I will report back once all the bits have arrived albeit not expecting the wheel until after Christmas break now.

  5. What diameter wheel have you got Daz, I’ve got the smaller 360mm GT wheel on order which is smaller than my multifunction OEM wheel.

my understanding is that for my manual car with multifunction, along with the adapter harness is the wheel should be a plug and play affair - I’ll report back accordingly 👀

I got round to assembling and fitting the side scoops today. A little bit fiddly and a bit cold for the tape but I got round it👍

I think they work well with the splitter and definitely look better in body colour (or as close as I could get to it 😂)

Overall quite a enjoyable little project, not too expensive and reversible if I change my mind.

Anyone thinking about fitting these I would recommend buying them already painted, buying some proper 10mm 3m vhb tape and be very careful removing your oem vents so you don’t lose any securing tabs😎

    Looks great 👌

Yep same here, the wheel I got is from the 911 but I think it's 375mm but airbag located and on its way!

It's a heated wheel so debating whether I should add it to the Cayenne instead and then add the Cayenne wheel to the 981.

👍 I definitely want the 360mm diameter wheel, seems to be loads of part numbers for airbags but not sure if there’s much difference?

  8. Got it all back together successfully but ran out of times for a pic - looks great mind.

credit to Porsche engineers, the car is like an adult Lego set - not a single broken clip,or fixing.

Got a custom gear knob on order along with a alcantara with deviated stitch gaitor too. Just need to find a 718 GT multifunction wheel with airbag for a sensible price now.

  9. Saturday I managed to get rest of interior upgrade in but what a tw*t of a job…

718 armrest is different to 981, so had to change whole mechanism not just lid as it initially looked. Not difficult but involved removing rear bulkhead carpet, rear centre console trim, dismantling armrest and removing hinge pin and spring. Thankfully all went back together no issue.

Drivers door card literally 5 min job.

Lower dash panel, there’s a hidden screw which involves removing dials 🤦🏻‍♂️ At 3.30 Sat afternoon with the light failing on the drive this is how the car looked.
