  1. Welcome, massive move up in terms of driving expereince from an S2000 to the 981GTS 😉 I had one of the first S2000 in the UK back in the day .........at the time you could run them for a few months and sell for overs as they where hard to get hold of initially......truth be told I never really got on with the VTech engines or the S2000, as you say the 9,000 rpm red line was fun but quickly tiring as you have to work those engines hard to get anything out of them...........the 981GTS in particular is on another planet in terms of driver experience..........at the risk of constantly repeating myself (which I do), research the DSC PASM controller....it is the best upgrade you can do to the car bar none 😉

No. 476, dealer had put it through mid sussex porsche to check and they will correct the faults before collecting.

Which is the four alloys being refurbed and the PSE valve being unstuck hopefully!

    Congratulations………..great spec and manual 👌

  3. ps I absolutely agree with your comments about the noise and comparison to the GTS and S54 BMW's.........I've owned them all over the years but would say the GT3RS is more mechanical than the S54 in the Z4, you should experience the engine in a Z3......that would be more comparable lol..........I used to have a S54 Z3 with Eisenmann Race exhaust......now that was mechanical and loud, no way you could keep below track noise limits with it !

From what I've seen on YouTube it seems to make a massive difference, so will take a look into these 👍

You have just missed a group buy for these on 911uk...

    http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=147696&start=40

There was also a recent discussion over how they are really needed on the GT2RS for any sort of road use. I've known a few people now with GT3RS's who bought with no intention of tracking ie for occassional road use only but all ended up passing them on within 6 months, they really are track cars ........but I'm led to believe the DSC controller makes an even bigger difference to the GT cars for road use........I would not own a Porsche without a version of PASM and I would not have PASM without a DSC controller......in very simple terms it transforms the stock adaptive system from a "dumb" one ie which controls all x4 wheels at the same time to a truly dynamic system that controls each individual wheel suspension independantly. All by simply swapping the plug and play control unit which is easily accessible in the passenger footwell. The DSC controller is also fully customisable or default maps can be used based on exact model.......the DSC controllers also have a very high resale value as they are none mechanical parts ie nothing to wear out .........they are like rocking horse poo to get second hand though ;-)....well work researching or give Ken at 9Excellence a call (ps I do not know him but they are the official UK provider and you can see by the link above he is very open to discussing them).

I know what GT3RS are like on road but I don't know what they are like with a DSC fitted hence why I am interested, you can be the guinea pig lol

@Jonttt Do you have photos or a writeup? I've done Oulton on a bike plenty of times and found every session red-flagged so it became a bit deflating. Does this happen on a car trackday?

I did not take any pictures but there may be some on the PCGB forum………there was only one yellow flag (when a 987.2 boxster “track car” spun and took some damage) and closed circuit for about 15 min when the wind really got gusty……..not as busy on track as the Spring event but still some nice metal, a lot more 718 GT4’s than I’ve seen before and a lovely shark blue 992 GT3………one of the guys I was with also saw his old 997.2 GT3 RS (one of I think 4 paint to sample black cars in the UK, yes black was PTS on the RS’s lol)…..was also nice to see some oil cooled including two mint WB 993’s on track…….looked and sounded amazing …..not sure I could ever track mine though !

    It's a 2011 Manual Car

The only things I know / can see from the limited pictures is it has red seat belts, and has 22,000 miles on the clock.

I don't know other spec / history / condition of the car, the advert isn't overly detailed!

    It's car number 226 of 987

Listed for £29k which if spec, condition and history stacks up could be a great buy. I imaging you'd get a little off of it too :)

    Thats a different car 😉

  7. OPC's are still happy to sell these cars despite being 10 years old.......#211 has just come back up for sale at an OPC for £35k.......

nb there is a c25k miler for sale on facebook for c£30k ......I don't know any details of which # it is

  8. Some interesting stats emerging:

    of 32 UK cars:

    - 44% are manual which is much higher than I would have thought

    - Every car has seat heating which makes me think this was a default option on the Black Edition although not listed as such in the brochure

    - 81% have Sport Chrono....the ones without being manual. The manuals without are not unexpected as I think there was / is a general misconception over what Sport Chrono offers to a manual car

    - Only 25% have PASM.....again not unexpected due to costs / general misconceptions over what PASM actually is and how it works.......I still find it amazing that so many would spec a Porsche sports car without either adaptive or sports suspension, I do have a feeling however that due to timing ie 2010 financial crisis that a lot of these cars where dealer specced ?

    - 50% have PSE......about what I would expect

    - 34% Full Leather .....probably slightly higher than I would expect (eg I would expect around 25%)
