Just had to slot the mounting holes. Some will fit straight in.

Looking at your pictures would I be correct in thinking that the door membrane doesn't need to be disturbed?

I've removed bad data above @charlieboy2608.

They are 5¼" or 13cm or at least the ones I bought that fitted straight into the door speaker boxes last autumn were.

Thanks for suggesting the error.  Correct info above.

    In conclusion a 5 1/4" fits but 6 1/2" is porsche oem?

There is a fan offside for blowing out hot air. The opposite side is air intake. But the cooling system fans are up front.

Thanks for confirming...I thought I'd gone completely mad 😉

He could hear the cooling fans and promptly points over his shoulder to the rear ...

Excuse my ignorance and I appreciate the rads are behind the front bumper but are there no fans near the mid location of the engine?

I'm sure I heard a fan behind me when struck in traffic. ..

Black ones are 1.2W, you can see it moulded into them if you zoom in on your picture.  I wonder where the 3W green ones are used?  Also I can't see bulbs for the indicator or main beam indication bulbs in the centre dial.

Next challenge is to find where you can buy these Osram bulbs without Porsche tax.  I'll let you know if I find them.

Added in my last two posts where I located the black 12v 1.2W bulbs...hope it helps.

    Lucas 286THBL 12V
    1.2W Black Base Bulb
    Single Bulb
    Product Code: 481774862

Found these at ECP not sure if the bulb might be dimensionally too large though....if you have the Bulb & holder out of car might be worth a look.

It will be one these, @RedBarediver, whilst your instrument pod is out, can you see what colour the warning lights across the bottom are?

I was hoping somebody would have the info not ask me to remove the instrument pod as the car isn't at my house atm 😒

  9. Great topic-while on this subject anybody well informed regarding which wattage bulb is used for convertible roof dash warning light?

    Thanks in advance.

  10. If it turns out to be a leak within the boot remember it has the same style foam under the boot carpet as in the interior so could take time for it all to dry out.....

  11. A cheap multi meter is your friend if phased ideas don't make any progress...fingers crossed but an unused battery during cold winter months don't bode well for battery longevity 😞 depending on the age of the present battery of course 🙂

  12. As mentioned by others you might be wise to remove the entire carpet to gain access to the foam underlay which holds alot of water.....

If left the sensitive immobiliser module under the passenger seat could create all kinds of issues leaving your vehicle inoperative.

Leave the key in position 1

Without sounding stupid would that method still work if the key needed to be removed to manually lock the car after removal of the battery? Eg car stored away from home while battery taken home to recharge.

put the key in the ignition and turn it one click, you can then disconnect the battery.

and yes, that alarm is ridiculously loud when you're right by it! rite of passage for boxster owners i think!

To assist in completing this topic is there a similar process regarding key position when reconnecting the battery?

  15. @BenMthis is an ideal time to locate the emergency pull cord that opens your front boot when battery faults occur.

I assume you have the micro boot releases?

Depending on year the emergency release is located in either drivers side wheel arch behind the plastic liner or passenger side-concensus here suggests early vehicles its passenger side,my 2002 MY is driver side.
