I was planning on having a go at it myself as it's not too big an area and kind of hidden. How are his prices?

Id say very good for the level of work.

Saw you the other day. But I was in the other car.

You will need to pop up for a coffee again soon. I have some shiney new bits getting fitted soon :)

Some here are proud to own the magic 2006 car, late enough to have the stronger IMS, early enough to have the cheaper tax bill.

Or late 2005 like mine :)

Doesn’t a change of springs also mean new shocks too?

Having tracked bikes for years, you’d not do one without the other unless you can adjust them to work..

I dropped my car on 35mm H&Rs. Initially on standard shocks. Ride was fine but ultimately it killed the shocks as there is a lot more wear. 6 months later and shocks needed done.

Expensive lesson as effectively had to pay twice the labour.

Ride on the Konis is much better. Stiffer but way more compliant.

Anybody got an outlet for the 10 mm lowering springs, I can only find 30mm and I think that would slam it too much?

Car has PASM fitted so it does sit slightly lower than a std 987

Dont necessarily have to be H&R

If it already sits lower then the 30mm wont be a 30mm drop. It will be less

I have the H&Rs on konis. Hang off till you come up and I'll take you a run.

  5. My advice would be

Dont over polish it. Maximum once every 2 years with the DA.

My usual on my basalt is blackhole followed with Collinite 915 once a month. And a spray wax such as meguires hybrid ceramic on washes in between.

I can't believe I didn't notice them! I"m pretty sure you didn't have the scoops on at that point. Will do once I have the clutch sorted 👍

They are not on long :)

Do it to all my 987 I have owned, vents come up quite often but minus the backing frames, which you will need circa £35 each from OPC

Are you due up here soon Bally?  Would be good to meet up

I rubbed the rust spots down, primered them, touched them in and then spotted on some lacquer. I then added some small rubber flaps, for want of a better word. They look quite obvious in the photos as the rubber was new and the flash has also made them stand out but they're not actually that obvious. I do 70, mostly motorway miles a day and I have no more chips. Must have had them on for about 2 years now.

My damage was further up.  But that's a good idea Del

  9. Id like a cage. But would not want to lose the rear screen as its handy for not blowing everything around the car.

And would also like to be able to put the top up.

Wonder if there is a solution?

Also are you removing the interior?  If you take out the airbags please let me know. As Im also considering that

  10. Just had all 4 arches professionally done. The rest of the car is mint so wanted it done properly.  Garage said they were impressed with how little damage there was compared to how they looked. So my advice is to do what I did. First sign of trouble get them done properly.

    Mines an 05 987

  11. I had this issue with first gear pulling away from a standstill.  It was intermittent and could happen twice a day or once a week -   No power at all, car didn't cut out, just didn't move the revs at all.  Then foot completely off the pedal and then press again and no issues.

After a lot of fecking around, I traced it back to the accelerator pedal.  Bought a second hand one on eBay and no issues since.  Really easy to swap, literally 5 mins.

Worth a try and if its not that you can always resell it

I'll try to steer this topic back on course. I asked where in a Boxster you would fit an extinguisher not if I knew what an extinguisher was, how to use it or how effective it would be. Having spent over 25 years of my youth in the RAF handling aircraft operations at the sharp end I have dealt with my fair share of aircraft fires both for real and in training scenarios. Then spent another 17 years as a race marshal rising up to Exam Post Chief around every circuit south of the Scottish border and in the Middle East, I know how to and when not to use an extinguisher and also which type of agent to tackle different fuel mediums with. I was light heartedly asking where folks have mounted an extinguisher in a Boxster not for a lecture on whether they are useful or how to use them.

You must be new here 😅
