  1. I find it much easier to use google to search the forum, than the time-restricted abacus internal search function. Type in “BoXa.net” and then what you’re looking for seems to work much better.

    Example, found using google.

     

  2. The bags work really well. This was taken last night after I put just-dried bags on the dash. It was a particularly humid night and I'd just driven the car, so the warm air in the car had started to condense on the cold windscreen.

Need 19" tyres so have been pulled towards the Conti SC7 or Eagle F1 SuperSport both about the same price really. I dont do the milage to justify the extra £300 a set for the Michelin PS4S although they are a pretty good tyre. 

    I have the Conti SC7 on the rear of my 535D, which is heavy on the rear tyres and I really like them. My local tyre fitter couldn’t get hold of the 35 profile Eagles I wanted so went with the Conti out of lack of choice, but haven’t regretted it.

    I wonder if there's an unswept area inside, under that rot spot. Where gas flow is limited or where an interior pipe shields gas flow and short drives allows acidic moisture to stay there, corroding away from the inside.

    Good guess.

    Welded joints are more prone to rust because the welding process causes the formation of a heat-affected zone (HAZ) around the joint. This HAZ has a different microstructure and composition compared to the base metal, making it more susceptible to corrosion.

    The Headliner never sat correctly at the sides when the roof was in the closed position. So I replaced these elastics as well. Your see the before Pic all loose and the after pic, headliner tucks in Nicley at the sides. Not the best pics

    Spent a few hours replacing the Boxster roof Elastics on the side so they sit correctly. Also changed the Headliner Elastics so they cover the inner workings correctly now also. 
     Was actually a quick and simple process, quite impressed with my Needle work.  

    @Drrncour What are the headliner elastics and what did you change?

    Definitely! Or the worry that it will eject over the bumper when you go over the first bump in the road.

    However, did highlight some chips on the bonnet I've never noticed before and some delamination on one of the wheels. Start saving for a respray and wheel refurb, I guess...

    I wouldn’t, I think they could vibrate free. But I have left one on by mistake and it was still there at the end of a short drive. There’s no point keeping them in the car as we don’t have a jack, but I take the pads with me if I have a tyre changed.

    It does more than just display the temperature, it controls it and holds it to that temperature. So, it removes the need to faff with up/down. Minor in the scheme of things, but is probably why it’s a much more expensive option.

    I think (waits to be proved wrong) all Boxster S models came with climate control.

    My 987 S just has basic up/down temperature control rather than climate control, yet has BOSE. Odd configurator options at play.

  13. I think you’ll have problems pulling away from standstill in 5th.

    If you have any tools with you, the shift cables can be seen under the storage cubby where your left elbow sits. You’ll need a screwdriver to look under there. If one of the cables has become disconnected it may have done it there. Alternatively it has come off at the gearbox end.

    Personally, I’d call a recovery service at this point.
