We have a new light on the dashboard – one that won’t go away (unlike the “your side light is out” warning previously mentioned, which seems to have fixed itself, must have been a loose connection). So it’s off again to Porsche Euro in Barnsley. I’ve not booked it in yet, so John will get a call from me next week. The Cayenne is due an MOT as well at the end of February, so my next update will probably include both of those.
If you can put up with the airbag warning until a month before your MOT is due, then Porsche & Euro can put a 13 month ticket on the car, to save you making two trips.

Yes defo a write off. The insurance guy quoted £22000 to put it back on the road. Very wet greasy road conditions and the car went into a spin.
I think we need a 'sarcasm' font on here - though it would be in use most of the time.
It happens. I hope you can use the experience to get in a better car and not lend it to you mates in future.
-
Are you sure that's a write off?
As long as everyone is okay, metal and plastic (and bricks) can be replaced.

55 miles round Cornwall, first time out since boxing day
Over 400 miles of coastline and you managed 55 miles? Did you break down?

While you are there Mr Moderator, can you ammend the title of the thread to say "your" rather than the current "you're"

This was exactly the reson why I volunteered to help moderate. I pick some of these up as soon as they happen, but if there's any historical ones, ping me a message or hit the 'report' button, let me know, and I'll get them done.

Pretty sure my 986S was still on the original clutch when I sold it with 127,000 miles on it
I'm pretty sure your current one is on the original clutch, from what the OPC told me.

We've done calendars before. IIRC they were CD case sized desk calendars, as large calendars are prohibitively expensive to post. It's only @D8EAN that can sanction whether it happens and how, so it's good that you are thinking a year in advance.

Yes, I think the spacing looks better now. Did you measure it from another car?

This is such a common issue - top marks for your ingenuity sir.
If you can be bothered, I would suggest sticking a thread in the "how to" with that ebay link in, help others in the future.
Yes,and if you didn't take pictures during the event, then please take it apart and start again.
Well done. -

@Lonewolfgjp oh yes, get those taken off... I must have the later style. I have an 03 car but the hardtop didn't come with it.
Will look much cleaner without them.
Unless they are covering something. I've never seen them on a roof before, but isn't the adjuster for locking down behind that area?

I picked her up from the garage after hearing that after extensive testing there is no misfire. Whoop whoop!
And the icing on the cake, I kissed her as the knock I heard in stiff corners turned out to be the spare wheel moving around. She is tight and as potent as ever.
Im going to give her a shower shortly, and put her to bed.
Are you still talking about your car?

You can tax a few days early only if the vehicle is currently taxed, otherwise it's as you described.
It used to be that if your car was already taxed, you could buy a week or more before, but if it was untaxed then you could only buy it a couple of days before.
I struck a deal with Bike Loon, and even though I SORN'd my old car on 30th September, he still couldn't tax it himself until 1st October.

They discount for BoXa. net members and are generally very helpful. This year though they could not assist me as I had spacers (a modification!).
Weird. They insure our Ute which is an out of the ordinary import that's been heavily modified.

Then it is one.

Good stuff, what's that orange car behind it?
S
For some reason, I think it's a Spyker C8. Could it be?
-
Or, like when I sold our last one, selling the rarer parts later yielded more money than leaving them on the car and selling the standard parts.

Nice job and well done too. I presume you don't have rear parking sensors in yours?
Looks like they are in the new diffuser, so I think he does.
