@Boxsum, next time, click on the 'poll' tag at the top and you can do it properly yourself.

Front drop links caused the squeak on my old 986. If I threw a bucket of water under the car, it stopped (until the bushes dried again).
-
The bulkhead doesn't stop it but you wouldn't have any tilt on the seat due to the roll hoop and bulkhead. Have a look at the runner movement length. It will usually have a stop crimped into the runner, to avoid the seat coming off the bottom runner (fixed to the car).
You should be able to unbolt the lower frame from the seat and swap to whichever has longer travel. @TROOPER88 would probably have more information about this as he's done so much work to so many cars.

Oh no he's not!
I went to Dove House today for an oil service on my 986 and they kindly gave me access to a 996. I took a tape measure with me and yes @ATM I agree that the seat runner is positioned about 8mm (±1mm) further back on the floor pan, which as it is a different floor pan I guess is not a surprise if they could make an adjustment. Every day is a school day.
So the 986 and 996 are largely identical back to the B pillar.
986 Boxster 553mm
996 Carrera 4 561mm
The seat runner is only further back on the 911 as there's no bulkhead to stop the seat so I'm not sure that's relevant. 986 & 996 doors are interchangeable (but obviously not the glass).

The pictures are all taken from a distance, I find that quite amusing.
Probably so that you can get the whole car in shot.

Thank you, however the car has no spare, no jack, no tool kit ... its what you get for buying a Porsche for £2k!
Bargain (I hope) - though if you are using the OPC for everything, expect to have your pants pulled down a few times.
I hope the car gets sorted quickly. -

@Araf this is the SORN and insurance thread.
Thanks. Good old Admiral group. The only insurance company I have had to get the ombudsman involved with (found in my favour).
I don't think the SORN exclusion is exclusive to them but as with others it is a money spinning excuse to keep their headline yearly premium competitive.
Thanks @Boxob

@Araf is there a minimum post number before being able to send PMs?
There maybe one to stop people being spammed, but I'm not aware of it.

IMHO that shows Porsche missed a styling trick. Nice work.
No, they kept it for the S.

We like wet weather driving here.

What did you do in response to said letter?
Ignored it. That bike will probably never go near London again.

It os odd that they contacted you. I suspect they are probably just sending out letters to car owners whose vehicles dont conform just to cover their own behinds, regardless of wehter they come into London or not.
I received a letter for one of my bikes. I have a feeling I may have used it in London in the early 2000's and they therefore have it on record. I've not received it for any other vehicles.

From such a rough start.
We're pleased for you.

Post it below here and tag me by using the @ sign and then my name. If I think it's for the benefit of the community, I will move it to the 'for sale' section and tell people to PM you. If you have 30 sets of one item or are trying to sell above list then I'll deem it spam and delete your post. Is that fair?

Porsche Cardiff have a BE PDK up for sale listed at £35k be interesting to see how quickly they sell it for etc
That's getting into Spyder territory - but probably preferable with a proper hood.

For balance, can people please update to advise if they have or have not received their reports?

The 'A' pillar is also strengthened. If your head is above a line between these, you need to lower your seat.

Not if he gets to 40 posts.

Haha, solution is never wash you wheels!
Or take it for a drive after you have, just to dry them off.

Love the new car colour combo of Midnight and Sand (I think) but the red calipers clash with the orange discs.

I hope not. Seagulls make a right old mess of your paintwork. Imagine pigs vacuating their bowels at 200ft.

Wheel poll ?

No pun, I was trying to help. When you post a new topic it defaults to 'content' but there's a 'poll' tag as well at the top. If you click that, you can create a poll.
