@deanmr2there must be a typo in your post as 987, exhaust will not fit a 986.
Hi Toddie you are correct should have read 987 Boxster it was indeed a typo

I had a resonated Milltek fitted to a 987 Cayman S.First of all it is not a really loud exhaust but has a much deeper sound than the stock system, there was no drone and sounded nice near the red line. To be honest I was a little underwhelmed with the Milltek and ended up selling it to a guy who had a 986 Boxster S. I asked the guy to get back to me to find out how he found the system and he said he absolutely loved it on his Boxster especially roof down. So my thoughts are that the Milltek suits the Boxster better than a Cayman. It was also a well made system and fitted perfectly hope this is of some help to you

I think the problem with the rear lights is the heat generated in the rear boot area by the mid engine layout. After I have been for a spirited drive it is like an oven in there so plastic lights go through regular heat up cool down cycles which isn’t what happens in most other cars

It’s a pretty straightforward DIY job and then the only cost is the new condensers so cost would be somewhere between £200 and £250 for decent quality parts

You don’t even need an account, just select the upload images link, when uploaded it gives a load of links. As above. The ‘direct link’ can just be pasted into you post and the photo will show.
the other links above in theory should show thumbnails but don’t seem to work on this forum.
Thanks I finally managed to upload a picture using the ‘direct link’ option many thanks again

I'm getting 15% off everything to date and fitting it all myself - mostly suspension but also coolant cap and other bits.
I think it all depends on what sort of relationship you have with the parts guys what kind of discount they will give you and how nicely you ask 😂

Should get 15% off if you join the classic register. Its free, just ask at the OPC and they will sign you up.
Pretty sure you only get the 15% discount off parts if you get the OPC to carry out the fitting of the parts

Just took my Boxster for it’s MOT and pleased to say it passed ok just one advisory that the rear brake pads were getting a bit thin which I knew about so will get new rear discs and pads fitted and good to go for another year 👍👍

Does your PDK have flappy paddles on the steering wheel ?
All subjective but I find the paddles give me that "manual style" immersion, when I want it , which I had with my previous six speed manual car.
Of course YMMV and we all like what we like 🙃
There are wrong answers here...
As I said before fit the flappy paddles to the steering wheel and it makes all the difference to your interaction with your car I find the upshifts really quick and I doubt many people could upshift quicker with a manual car, the downshifts are a tad slower but you learn when to change down when approaching corners and when you are pushing on you keep both your hands on the steering wheel. With the tiptronic in manual mode you decide when to change gear just as you do in a car with a manual box

Congrats on the new motor!
I'm running 15mm front spacers, 18mm on the rear. It looks great and wouldn't have it any other way!
I also have 200 cell Dansk sports cats and sports exhaust, sounds good and I'd look into it! Photos on my Instagram: flatsix.ant
Have you ever had any problems passing the emissions test at MOT time with your 200 cell cats

I have a Boxster S tiptronic and love it, I had it converted to paddle shift which totally transformed it the paddles let you keep both hands on the wheel at all times and I always drive mine in manual mode except in stop/start traffic when I let the automatic mode do it’s own thing. I have not driven a PDK car so can’t comment on how much better it is than the tip but I will say my daily driver is an auto Volvo and I prefer the tiptronic in the Boxster to the gearbox in the Volvo. Hope this helps

I bought the Bosch one from D911 last week used discount code PCGB005 £80 delivered
I fitted the o2 sensor myself used plenty of dismantling fluid and left to soak for a couple of days and the old one came out without much of a fight it’s an easy enough DIY job

Porsche part number is 986 606 126 01 (about £250 +VAT on D911) Bosch part number 0 258 003 806 (about £65 +VAT on D911). Go to your local Bosch auto electrics centre and you may get a few more pennies off that.

If you've manged to register your car on the Porsche Classic register, will this qualify for discount on mats? I'm sure I read that the classic register also includes discount for parts? I might look into this myself. My drivers mat is looking very tired now!
I am pretty sure you only get discount on parts if you get the OPC to carry out the work required if you are on the Porsche register but as others have said just ask for the discount the parts guys are usually quite accommodating

I forgot to say that my car has a tiptronic gearbox and that makes it a bit more awkward to replace the mounts. I had to remove the exhaust cat pipe to get the brackets and mounts out of the car, the tip brackets are a bit beafier to take the extra weight of the auto box and are fixed to the transmission by 3 bolts instead of the 2 bolts on manual cars with the extra bolt being higher up and a pig to get out. The joys of DIY’ing 😂😂

For some reason i thought you were on an upgrade/uprate path to make a more focussed road car. I have some poly mounts and my car is a road car but not a daily. It tightens things up nicely and I don't find them intrusive at all.
I bought the engine and transmission mounts from my local OPC so hopefully they are good quality and I shouldn’t have have been worry about them again
New coolant header tank required

The way I see it is the expansion tank has lasted 20 years or more from when your car was new so if it is a keeper I would buy from OPC fit and forget about it for another 20 years
