Rav
2001 986S - I have noticed that the gear stick is not re-centering by itself. I have heard that this could be done to just lubricating the mechanism. Any ideas how to do this? Thanks
Jason986S
When I first got mine it would stick to the left occasionally. After some quick lubrication (gearbox end) and some good proper use (Italian tune up) it's been perfect and not re occurred.
Araf
If you lift the gaiter in the car you can see the mechanism within the car. If this is loose, then you'll have to get under the car and look where the wires are attached to the selector on the gearbox.
cj225
When I viewed and first bought mine it did this - you couldn't find 3rd/4th. With some use, it didn't take long to get back to norm. I've never known any other type of car to be so adverse to lack of use - there's lots of weird things that happen when you leave them sat around
Jason986S
As above, I think mine had been used twice in a couple of months for short trips to the golf club. After I did maybe 500 miles in a few weeks, all was well.
