How do I lock my 986 facelift but switch off the alarm?

So have I read the manual but cannot  discover how I can lock the car but turn off the alarm. Ideally you need to be able to do this when you put the car on a ferry, otherwise the vibrations set the alarm off. In the past I have left the car unlocked.  Feel sure I am being a bit dim . . . . .

A double press of the key to lock will disable the interior sensors, but not sure about the tilt sensor.

That may be solved by the unlock trick mentioned here

Or you could just take the Eurotunnel ?
