mattik
Apologies, im sure this has been covered a fair bit - can anyone recommend or send a link to a thread about better and stronger headlamp bulbs for the 986? I think ive put up with the standard crappy ones for far too long. Cheers
Topbox
It has indeed. The search facility is not good here. No easy way forward from memory and its complicated by the fact that what may work on a 987 most likely will not work on a 986 . In the short term some high perormance bulbs may help, how cost effective that will be will depend on how long they last I guess, some say about a year but will depend on use I imagine, You could contact Autobulbs direct and ask for an opinion, good luck. edc
There are loads of 55W +100% and more bulbs out there. Just get a reputable brand. Many use Philips. I was happy with the Ring Xenonmax back in 2012. There came a newer Ultimatemax or something and I'm sure there must be a newer version by now too. mikefocke
More watts = more heat and burnt lenses. Can you say hundreds of pounds.

Yes, this has happened to me, be careful here, I don’t think the standard bulbs and lights combo are that bad, especially main beam. what I do notice is they get dirty quickly and a quick wipe makes a huge difference. mattik
Thanks Baron, I'll give that a try and see if that makes a difference. Just got to get the pesky things off now. if that doesn't work it looks like an even match between the Osrams and Philips (unless I'm missing something)

True but the ones linked are (apparently) normal watts.
