John2000
Hi anyone tried to remove lots of scratches from their wind deflector. I would like to try to remove them but fear all I will do is make the situation worse
S8ked
I have removed scratches from the acrylic hatch on my boat using Brasso metal polish. I get it at my local marine store.
M12MTR
Try a DA polish with a light cutting compound first.
Lonewolfgjp
I tried to remove some from my 986 wind deflector but never really got anywhere. I tried several plastic polishes but all they did was improve the shine. If its hazy light scratches you may improve them but if they are deep I don't think you will remove them. Definitely worth a try and good luck ?
John2000
@Lonewolfgjp @M12MTR @S8ked thanks for your replies I will try both but like Gareth I don't hold out much hope. I was in the army before they invented staybright for cap badges and belt buckles so I know all about brasso my finger starts throbbing just at the thought of it. I wouldn't try any compound as it will only add more fine scratches. At best I'd try a polish on the pad.
John2000
@Pat we are thinking the same but I might try the brasso as a last resort before getting my wallet out yet again
Boxstercol
This might help to a certain degree https://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-PlastX-Plastic-Polish-296/dp/B0000AY3SR It works ok on instrument cluster scratches.

I used AG SRP with a DA on clear plastic previously.. ... it came up like new.
