Llewelyn
Hi all I've just bought a Boxster S which seems to have a short shift kit fitted. It doesn't look OEM but does have the Porsche "P" logo laser etched into it. Can anyone identify it? (see attached image) Thanks in advance

Llewelyn
Thanks @T911UK I thought it might be but it looks quite "aftermarket" even though it's really good quality!
Llewelyn
Any idea what I should be selling it for when I remove it?
Patt
removing it, why ? That looks to be similar spec to a GT3 one, ie metal fittings and all. As for price, search on ebay, there are usually quite a few for sale at various values.
Llewelyn
I prefer the feel of the standard shifter, it's a bit too precise for me... !
Lonewolfgjp
£200 on eBay ?
Patt
the standard 987 is better in my opinion, but this is a very subjective topic.
Llewelyn
@Patt do you have the part number for the standard 987 shift linkage? Is it a direct replacement? I am considering options at the mo
Patt
yes direct replacement. OEM feel, and not quite as close as the short shifter, but shorter than the standard 996. I purchased one 2nd hand from ebay.

Hi Llewelyn, I'd happily swap it with you for a standard 987/997 shifter if that's your desire? Cheers, Baggers.

I'm gob smacked, it was the first thing I changed when I got my 986, in standard form the gear shift felt like stirring a bowl of porridge.
