Exhust Raspberries

Every time I start the car when it's cold, that is engine oil cold not outside air temperature, I get this horrible raspberry noise from my exhaust but as soon as oil is warm and I stop and restart the car it's gone and sounds perfect. My thoughts is there is some valve in the exhaust either open or closed at start up.

Not a problem just curious.

You’ve probably got a leak on one of the joints that seals when the exhaust gets hot?

Do you think that will be a problem for my MOT.

If it is a leak(s) on a joint(s) then, yes, potentially it is an MOT problem. It will adversely affect the emission readings. A couple of years ago my car failed it's MOT on emissions. The joints were remade with exhaust cement and no problem since.
