I don't think it was that loud at all. Yes I had it fitted by Revolution, it was a little deeper at idle and louder from about 4k on. There was a little drone at motorway speeds which wasn’t present on the original box if I recall. I viewed it as a 10% increase in noise over a standard box but no idea what it was on a DB perspective. Almost all of them came out at about 96-97db from a static rev using an iphone app about 1mtr away.
