I think in the first instance you need to disconnect & re connect the battery. But to access the battery you will need to locate the emergency release cable. Hopsfully your previous owners didn't re route it  The manual or someone on here will help. Did you buy privately or a dealer ? A dealer has a duty to sell you something designed to do the job. Privately it might be worth contacting him & poiltely ask if it's happened before & what was the remedy

I've had all sorts of electrical & manual niggles since I bought in February but I'm persevering, it's however costing me.

What year is the car? Some earlier cars are cable controlled frunk /boot later cars are electric.

What problems do you want to solve first? It sounds like you have access to the car but can't get it locked. Have you tried the central locking button on the dash?

Radio codes there are plenty of crackers around for these to get the code or @Richard Hamilton might be able to help you.

I've sent you a pm about how to find the cable to open the front bonnet but if the central locking button on the dash works fine you should try to open the bonnet with the button on the sill to the right of the drivers seat

It may not be broken.  There is a blade on the end of the key barrel which engages in a slot in the door lock mechanism.  It sounds to me like someone may have replaced the lock mechanism, and hasn't lined up the blade in the slot.  It is a fairly common mistake to make.

My friend tried this recently as his car wasn't responding to the key fob but it didn't work.

The remote can become out of sync with the immobiliser.

Have a read of this:

Just an update: i have taken the door card off and looked at the door lock mechanism, and found out its broken thats why it wont lock or unlock with the key in the barrel

regarding the central locking, i have disconnected the battery but the alarm started, reconnected the battery alarm went off after 1min, but still cant lock or unlock the vehicle with the remote

i have found in the car some tags(maybe delivery tags) for the keys, would that be the ID numbers of the keys?

If the tags are bar codes and thin bits of plastic then these are the codes you need to program the remote.

To stop the alarm going off when you disconnect the battery insert the key in the ignition and turn it on (without starting the engine) then remove the battery connection. You can remove the key.

When reconnecting the battery,  make sure the key is in the ignition and at the on position first.

Evening, just to keep you guys updated, i have been to a porsce specialist HP porsche ltd, regarding the remote central locking

and they, bassically got some codes from Porsche, and reprogram It but the car wont accept it, they have tried it few times

and the end they said they cant do it, that at some point in the car's life someone changed the ECU, and that in order to succeed with the remote central locking i ll need the VIN number of the car that the ECU came from, it doesnt make any sense to me whatsoever, also payed £100 for them to tell me that ..

also they told me that Porsche will do exactly the same thing..... and that they cant help me, unless i buy a new ECU? Or alarm module?

Any opinions?

Sadly many times the ACU under the seat gets soaked when drain holes are blocked, and is likely to die at some point later due to PCB corrosion.

600 quid fix but has been done for less by those who know what they are doing.

Good luck.
