Roger C
Chums, what tyres would you recommend for a 2.7 on 18" rims. I've been advised either Continental or Bridgestone but there are so many different types. Rog.

You can’t get Michelin PS4S but you can get Michelin PS4 in 18” - they get a decent writeup I believe. http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2018-Auto-Express-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm
Freeman
I have just fitted Goodyear Eagle F1. The Michelins and the Goodyears are very close to each other in performance with Michelin having the edge but in my opinion not by much. Yet, there is a big difference in price as the Goodyears are ~£50 cheaper. The lowest fitted price that I found was offered by Formula 1 Autocenters followed by National but elected to use a small local garage.
entdgc
I too am looking for tyres for my 2.7 on 18". Trouble is I cant seem to get matching front and rears in my preferred options which are Michelin PS4's or Goodyear Assymetric 3. I know I could go for a PS2 and 4 mix or Assy2 and 3 mix but my OCD likes matchy -matchy! Most annoying. Dave
Roger C
Same here, I've been using Black circles and can't find matching sets of anything, have sort of made my mind up on the Conti contact 3's now but yet again struggling to find matches. However the better half has found a thing called 'Asda tyres' not only do they have the matching conti's but they were also over 40 quid cheaper than Black Circles, just need to wait until payday now..🤔
PaulQ
If you want Assy3 or PS4 all round, then you can fit 255 on the rear, or just buy something else like the Yokos.
89rallye
i just picked up 2 p zero rosso new old stock delivered and fitted for 179.00 for the pair 255/40/18 , i dont't thrash the car and do about 2500 miles a year so spending a couple of hundred a corner is pointless in my opinion
entdgc
For anyone doing the rounds for tyres here is my list of suppliers to compare. Some offer fitting some don't. As a guide, my local quoted £55 to fully fit 4 tyres. https://www.blackcircles.com/ https://www.camskill.co.uk/ https://www.f1autocentres.co.uk/ https://www.oponeo.co.uk/ https://www.motokiki.com/ https://cars.tyreleader.co.uk/tyres/ Oponeo do 4xAssy2's for £420+fitting. Never used them before might do this time. Dave
Roger C
Another for the list. https://www.asdatyres.co.uk/ These have come up cheapest for me so far. I'm fairly settled on the Continental Conti Sport Contact 3. Here are the prices I've got so far for 265/40 R18 rears and 235/40 R18 fronts. Black circles, £624 fitted Camskil, £547 unfitted Asdatyres, £591 fitted Rog.
Roger C
Little update, I've tried all the above sites, https://www.motokiki.com/ appears to look at all the site, a bit like Go Compare for tyres, cheapest I found via them was valuetyres.co.uk which came in at £555.48 fitted, that's a £70 saving over Black Circles, well worth 30 mins on the interweb, just need to wait until payday now...lol Rog.
