chanlon1
My 08 987.1 Sport Edition has the full red rear lights. However, the foil inside is beginning to peel away and it’s not going to be long before I think I will replace them. But I’m not sure whether to stay with the full red rears or change to something like https://www.design911.co.uk/mobile/#part;id=1468 I had originally thought of going down the LED option, but am not sure. If anyone has photos/thoughts/been there before etc I’m interested to hear. Thanks Colin.
EagleStar
I have exactly the same problem on my SE. i think when I do (eventually) replace them, I’ll go like for like though and keep her as original as possible.
Jason986S
I wouldnt go back to the clear indicator, that’s almost like a downgrade. I will be upgrading to the LED at some point. The 981 style rather than the 987.2 style, so you have a tiny indicator section and the tail lights are like a ‘C’ shape illumination (which looks great). Like these (but would not pay >£500) https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F382376011599
Menoporsche
I'd go for LEDs, even if they have to have resistors to fool the canbus. Re peeling - you say "foil", but someone here had peeling red paint interior, and they touched it up with nail polish, I think it bought them another year. chanlon1
These 981 style are sub £400. https://www.design911.co.uk/mobile/#part;id=130981 However the clear lens in the middle isn’t as big as that in the eBay link above.

Lonewolfgjp
These worked well on my 987.1 I personally think they suit the car better than the 981 style , but everyone’s tastes are different. I think if I had a Sport Edition I would probably just replace with some new red lights, as they aren’t stupid expensive and it keeps the car oem 👍
chanlon1
The full reds are around £350 for both. https://www.design911.co.uk/mobile/#part;id=1455 There is something to be said about keeping it oem.........
Lonewolfgjp
Don’t forget the vat and the delivery charge from design911. Why don’t list the price including vat I don’t know, it’s not like they’re average customer is trade.
chanlon1
The red ones are £419.36 inc VAT. Delivery is free.....

rsmithinfo
I got these from Design911. They had to send some new ballasts for my car to get rid of some warnings but got there in the end. I think they look great.
