I've always put it down to the inevitable wear that comes from anything mechanical. The actual waterproof layer is underneath so it's nothing but a visual problem. Camels Posted February 5, 2020 Report Share Posted February 5, 2020 Weirdly enough I noticed some similar areas on mine just yesterday when I gave it a going over with the vacuum cleaner. Glad to know it’s not just me! planning to give it a clean and reproof with the Autoglym kit - any helpful tips/advice from anyone who’s done that before? I haven't done anything about it since except limited the amount of times I drop the roof, which is a bit cr*p. I did have a look carefully as I operated the roof and it doesn't seem to come from anything obvious, perhaps just a fold exactly as the clamshell is completely down. Paul P Posted February 5, 2020 Report Share Posted February 5, 2020 Had similar patches on previous car, not in this one (lower miles so maybe it’s time will come). Had an Audi convertible for about 14 years. Had similar patches that never really got worse. Advice I got form Audi was make sure you get as much dirt off it as you can when you wash it, they reckoned that dirt and grit aggravated it when folded.
