the baron
I have had many nice cars including New 911's, classic 911's, Ferraris and Astons, but this sums up why I just love the 1st Gen Boxster so much: Celebrating Love Instead Of Hate With A First-Generation Porsche Boxster On The Sicilian Coast https://petrolicious.com/articles/celebrating-love-instead-of-hate-with-a-first-generation-porsche-boxster-on-the-sicilian-coast

Tynesider
Enjoyed reading that, thanks. This is my favourite bit "Indeed, Porsche has always been more than the 911, and it is refreshing to hear someone older folks might call a “young person” choosing the Boxster for its connection to history rather than its cost of entry. Cheddar Bob
I saw that the other day. I'm really impressed with the Boxster. It inspires confidence and it doesn't encourage hoonagism behaviour. My kit car did exactly the opposite. The drop top experience is excellent. Reminds me of when I'm on the motorbike but without a helmet. Overall I'm very pleased with Porsche and it's design engineers for this car. *I reserve the right to come back and change my opinion when I've ran out of money. When I bought my first boxster I went to a specialist whose approach was "what do you want from it" - 10 mins into discussion, guy said "so what's your bike history" - he reckoned his typical boxster customer was a long term biker who just wanted to do "it" in t-shirts and shorts" and understood roof down as a life style choice. he wasn't wrong
el 3.2S
Good read. Interesting that the car featured has been modded up a bit with an S badge and S backbox.

Thing is I don't want to drive like an idiot. Every other performance car I've owned, including those faster and slower have encouraged me to drive with enthusiasm. ....
