£900 for replacing the hood?

No a new OPC supplied roof cover  would be nearer 4k with labour.

No new roof cover required to fix the issue , all perfectly  adjustable with the roof elastic being tweaked/replaced and I can talk from first hand experience that OPCs will tweak the elastic without it necessitating a new roof cover and a hole where the bank account used to be.

Did you have yours done by an OPC ? How much was it if I may ask.

I'm still debating of having a go at this myself with my two left hands or just getting an indie/opc to do it...

I had a tweak under warranty on the previous car when it was in for something else , so no money changed hands but I think they charged internally a hours labour.

It’s a pretty easy DIY with a bit of sewing or a stapler. Remove the two Velcro side straps once the roof is in the service position and peer in with a good light. Just be careful not to loosen the T15 screw too much so you lose it in the void 😱I tend to put a towel into the roof area whilst working  to catch anything which can be dropped. I found a combination of a thumb screwdriver and a 90 degree ratchet driver worked best for me to slacken/tighten the screw.

I'm probably among the least hands-on owners for maintenance - even I did this myself. It's very satisfying to manage the small stuff & of course it's cheaper.
