lofi
Pretty much that question. I am looking to dye it black but I read somewhere that its plastic rather than leather. Anyone know if this is the case? My car does not have the extended leather dash.

Simo_UK
Hot sunny day, sweaty palms, dyed gearshifter? What could possibly go wrong
Paul P
This from a 987.2 product brochure ( so may of course be completely different in the 981) In the interior, as well as leather on the steering wheel, PDK selector/gear lever, handbrake lever and door handle, the Boxster S has leather trim on the storage compartment covers in the doorand the rear centre console. I think that means - yup its leather, and the S gets a bit more leather in other bits.....
lofi
Thanks, I’ll give it a go. Done plenty of steering wheels so if it’s leather, should be ok
Stuart21UK
yes the S did get a few bits of standard leather as per above
lofi
I can confirm that it is leather and Luxor beige takes a colour change well
Terryg
As far as I am aware all the leather re -finishes (sold by Furniture Clinic for example) are a paint not a dye so leather or plastic makes no odds. The centre of my 997 seats are not leather but I still re coloured them, finished with the sealer (not everyone does) and there have been no issues.
