Remote Locking Issue

Hi everyone, I have a strange issue with the remote locking. If I leave the car for a couple of days or more the key won’t open the car and the red light on the key doesn’t work either. I then have to unlock manually. Once the car has been unlocked the key starts working again. Any ideas?

The car goes to sleep after about a week and will not respond to remote unlock by design.

You need to try to open the door (lift the handle) whilst locked which actuates the microswitch in the door handle and wakes the car ... then unlock with the remote as usual.

Hopefully this is all it is?

Is it just a couple of days? The 986 and 987 have a sleep mode which kicks on after a number of days (I think 5 days for the 986).  Thereafter the remote doesn't work until the system has been woken up.

Snap!

But. Undocumented is “just lift the door handle and it all starts working again “ (at least it doe on a 987)

Yes good spot re that page...and I just do that re the door handle without thinking (most of the time).

Thanks for all the replies and for clearing it up. Sounds like it has just gone to sleep then. It must be 7 days then not a couple, proves how much I use it!

ahh ok, if you had said 7 🙂
