Jeansbeetle
Hi everyone, I have a strange issue with the remote locking. If I leave the car for a couple of days or more the key won’t open the car and the red light on the key doesn’t work either. I then have to unlock manually. Once the car has been unlocked the key starts working again. Any ideas?
Pinewood
have you tested your car battery? have you replaced fob battery?
Jeansbeetle
Just now, Pinewood said: have you tested your car battery? have you replaced fob battery? It still does it when the battery is on a trickle charger. Not tried the fob battery. Just assumed it’s ok as works perfectly once the door been unlocked manually. rowbos
The car goes to sleep after about a week and will not respond to remote unlock by design. You need to try to open the door (lift the handle) whilst locked which actuates the microswitch in the door handle and wakes the car ... then unlock with the remote as usual. Hopefully this is all it is?
944GS
This is normal behaviour for mine after 7 days though, it goes into sleep mode to save battery. Unlock with the key or pull the door handle to wake it up then use the remote button to unlock.
Boxob
Is it just a couple of days? The 986 and 987 have a sleep mode which kicks on after a number of days (I think 5 days for the 986). Thereafter the remote doesn't work until the system has been woken up. Snap! Jeansbeetle
Thanks for all the replies and for clearing it up. Sounds like it has just gone to sleep then. It must be 7 days then not a couple, proves how much I use it!
