Problem is, as Bernie Ecclestone advised his good friend Jochen Rindt, if you want to win the World Championship, drive for Lotus; if you want to live, drive for Brabham. The Lotuses often broke before they crossed the line. Jochen Rindt became the 1970 F1 World Champion but was killed in a Lotus at Monza that year after a car failure (front inboard brake shaft). The only posthumous winner of the title to date.
