Instant clutch failure / issue

I've updated my running report, but thought I would post here also.. I was driving my 986 (2000 2.7, 96k) today and went to change from 2nd to 3rd and the clutch hit the floor and didn't come back up.  I mope'd the car along in gear at idle at approx 10-12 mph until I could get collected.  It wasn't giving any signs of going.. so I'm thinking possibly a slave or master cylinder?  Although no signs of fluid leaking anywhere.. Car is on 96k and has had a clutch in the past, although a few years back I think.. Any ideas??

First major issue 152 miles into ownership.. oh well.

You can start it in gear and change if you rev match , just junctions are the difficult bit but if you have a free run home you can do it

changing gear didn't make any difference.. It's at the garage now.. Although he can't look at it for a while yet..
