I replaced the handbrake shoes & all discs/ pads on my car the shoes are from heritage Porsche I can't remember the brand (they're blue) and the discs are Brembo.
I seem to be getting rubbing from the shoes on the discs once they're hot noticeable at low speed somehow the noise goes if I brake.
I'm guessing it's a case of getting the disc off and sanding/grinding off a part of the handbrake shoe to give it an additional millimetre or so if expansion clearance.
I was just wandered if it might be less faff just to get a set of Pagid discs and slap those on so I'm not messing around with the handbrake set-up?
Looking at threads on Planet 9 & PH it seems anybody with this problem on a Boxster or Cayman all seem to have brembo discs.
If you had asked me personally I would of told you what you need to do , but what I can say it’s nowt do with incompatibility

ABP motorsport in Shavington near Nantwich charge was £150 but I was there for at least 1 1/2 hrs very professional set up and have been there for 30 - 40 years and job spot on considering all the work I have recently done

And more importantly, did you notice any great difference with the remap?

agree - all discs were painted before fitment too.
No masking required - just burn of the excess paint with use 😉
Auto jacked up , put in neutral and let the wheels rotate and spray get a a lovely even finish

Not mine , but this morning, air filters rear anti roll bar bushes, and fixed a Top. Gear exhaust, where the valves , not seized but not working, bastardised a new valve ( that I have had knocking around for years )to make it fit , now all good , my friend is extremely pleased , just got to Service his PDK and replace font pads and discs , job will be a good un !
All the outstanding jobs , plus painted up his wheel nuts and rear disc bells, don’t like seeing rust through a wheel, but that’s my personal OCD 😂

986 MAF holder is 74mm int dia. 987 MAF holder is 80 mm in dia.
So if I sleeve the 987 MAF holder with say, a 20mm wide collar, is that all that is required?
Air flow will go through the 80mm MAF holder, be reduced through the 74mm collar, spill out into the larger 80mm tubing and go on into 74mm plenum. Is that it?
It should do ? But I fitted reducers

Thanks for that. Looks like I overlooked the MAF tube reduction! Not in the garage atm so just asking what is the internal dia required? I assume the same as the 986 MAF tube? Is it ok to use the 986 MAF tube and then step up immediately to the larger tube before the TB?
Not in the garage now till Wednesday so will continue then.
That’s is what I did ,reducers either side of the 986 MAF housing

If no air leaks I believe your issue is the 987 maf housing, previous post re world of hurt

Have you used the 986 MAF ? If you have used the 987 MAF apparently can give a world of hurt , I did the same job on my first 986 TB air box etc with no issues but using the 986 MAF

Thanks for that Mick. I tend to agree with you that it sounds like a large air leak. I think I will remove them tomorrow and reset them even though I’m not that optimistic but worth a try. As for the joining tube with the flap inbetween the manifolds. It has only the small vacuum tube that goes to the underside, doesn’t it?
Yes , but I have run with disconnected didn’t make any difference, I reckon that one of the Plenum tubes is on but folded under , but underneath where you can’t see , I do hope I’m right, as said previously mine ran terrible, and I couldn’t see anything wrong, just revisited work I had done

I hear what you are saying and it wouldn’t be the first time that an electronic/electric part has failed. Would it really upset the running that much if one of the O2 sensors failed? It really is undrivable.
My Money Peter still is a big air leak, I remember when I had the your RS 60 and tried a IPD plenum which was SO ! Unsuccessful, put the original Plenum back on and it ran with the symptoms you are describing, as I had a air leak , but it was the bellows , re Lamba sensors , you generally just get a CEL warning, never found when its happened car ran like a bag of shyatee
-
You have a air leak check the bellows to the Plenum,it can be difficult to ensure they are fastened correctly, certainly under neath where you can’t see , I had similar symptoms some years ago

I wonder if you have damaged one of your injectors ?
If so I have a new one knocking about

I’m pretty certain there aren’t any air leaks. I was extremely careful putting it all back together, and in fact, replacing a few connections which looked old and perished. Doesn’t really feel like an air leak with the continual stuttering when accelerating.
I wonder if you have damaged one of your injectors ?

Hopefully not so bad on the ears nowadays.I was wondering if it had valves.
Terrible, fully open at 2.5 k rpm , motor way speeds , now he should have all the options 🙏

I was hoping 15k 🤞To his good pal Luke. I only called him Zanziw anchor once!
He got a good deal on it at the time it was a Billy bargain, said he needed to throw a grand at it , but if can pitch it right at the price it would be still a good bargain, without him being greedy

He bored of it yet Mick?
Yes , it will be a bargain for someone, probably 22.5 k,but not until it’s sorted
