Does Porsche acknowledge this with a lower torque for the locking nut or just bitter experience?
I must admit I don't torque my black locking bolts to 160! I carefully get to maybe 130-140 Nm and leave it there... I have not experienced issues myself, but heard of others rounding off the locking bolt with associated pain.

Hi all.
Potentially looking to change out 987.2 BE out for something else (718 GTS Maybe)
Have prices softened?
Most traders are thinking like £23/£24k against a part ex which seems low to me but maybe I am well out of touch with pricing.
The car details are below.
- 2011 (61 Plate)
Porsche Boxster S Black Edition.
- 34500 Miles on the clock
Usual BE sec plus the following:
- PDK
- Sports Seats
- Red Seatbelts
- Porsche Logo on Storage Bin
- PSE
- Sports Chrono with Paddles (Sport Design Wheel)
- Rear Parking Sensors
The car has full history Porsche and specialist history and is due to be serviced again next Tuesday. It has a couple of small scuffs on silver edges of wheel which have been touched in and a couple of small chips on the front and rear bumper but otherwise its very clean.
What do you think we could achieve through trade in / private sale?
WBAC is saying £24400 but will knock a bit off due to wheel marks I would expect.
Thanks
Ash
Have you tried any specialists to see what you might achieve? I think you will do better than WBAC, they are probably pricing that as a standard 987.2 🤔

Its not mu pic, I stole it but TBH mine are pretty grim, bolts have some surface rust but collars are not good.
So where is the best place to buy new ones please?
Rog.
I'd buy from an OPC, they are not that expensive and come in Chrome or Black... use your PCGB discount if available.
DesignTek have some shinier ones that I had on a previous car which were quite nice as well.

It's integrated and I don't think possible to order separately, looking at your rusty nuts I'd not hesitate in buying a whole new set anyway! 🤓

Have you checked the usual suspects... glove box and armrest latched?

Bored then??
BTW why 52 ?
Not bored, feeling a bit cr*p and full of cold, that was a random number to be honest. I can't believe you counted them! (are you bored?) 😬

@rowbos, you need to drive that more.
I know mate. Just booked in with Lee at CPS to tie in with the April museum meet - for a couple of little jobs (A/C and possibly brakes) ... and looked at my MOT summary at the same time ... the last 3 years are shockingly low mileage numbers 😳

You made me feel guilty. Here's one they sent me before they prepared it properly (!). Let's see if this works.
Haha. No need to feel guilt!
Looks amazing chap, enjoy...

Took my Agate 2013 981S (owned it for 8 years) to Porsche Centre Solihull yesterday and picked up a replacement 2016 981S in Guards Red. Amazing car in fantastic condition. In my researches I reckon the difference between a 2016 GTS and an S of the same age, spec and miles is at least £8k and often £10k or even £12k. That's a lot of money for a G & T! After a test drive in a GTS I couldn't find any discernible difference on the road vs my old S with PASM, Sport Chrono etc, so looked for another well-specified S instead. This one has everything I want, even the recently released MY 2021 PCM maps!
Nice. Do you have photos (possibly not given the weather at the moment!)?

Yeah it was not something I wanted to get involved with! I was really pleased with mine...

Nice. Was this done with the wheel in situ?
Apologies if that's a stupid question, but I like the look of this for my BGTS.
Can they do the PDK lever too?
I had a wheel sorted at Royal a few years back. The options were to remove your wheel and send it in to them to be covered, or option 2 (which I plumped for) was to accept an identical style/colour exchange wheel which is covered to your design and then to go to Royal (or exchange by delivery) and have them swap the new (exchange) wheel with your original (which they will then use for the next exchange on that design/colour of wheel)...
They can cover the PDK level as well I believe (which I suppose has to be undertaken in situ) 🤔

Sounds like you got away with this...
Personally I'd not bother with insurance for £500 to avoid that history.
Get some traps/poison out. You don't want a repeat of this!

I know, I was so giddy with excitement I was almost sick! 😊
I went for the full wasp, racing yellow with black gloss accents. I went with the good advice I got here and added a few yellow highlights in the cabin.

Next job, clear out and re-arrange the garage, what fun!😏
Very exciting, looks great!!

I run mine to the bottom of the door and I've not seen any damage to the cable.
Same. It's worked for me over a number of years and not a mark on the cable...
Very dead car
