Spent the evening trying to get the exhaust bolts off....
Not going well so far.
What a Sh.t job, one quick attempt , and i was off to my local P Specialist. It was worth the £200. My local OPC wanted around £900 to do it. GOOD LUCK

sorry, ERISIN

Anyone thinking of going the Carplay/Android /satnav replacement route should perhaps consider the ERSIN ( ios & android ) system. Just seen an installation video on you tube and it is Plug&Play, looks to easy, all for £230 , and it worked !!

WOW , did that include the wheels,😂 I think i'm out of touch with tyre prices, mine came with new P's 4 years ago, so have not bought any in that time.. I remember buying the Yoko's for the 986 , and the rears were £110, fast forward , bit of a difference now it seems.
-
Update, looks like these Yoko's are porsche rated anyway , so on they will go i think.
The Yoko Advan v35 is factory fitted for the Cayenne anyway,

Has anyone used Yokohama Advan Sport V105 on their 981. I had them on my old 986 and they seemed a nice all round tyre. Or any other brands apart from Pirelli and Michelin . Just curious, as i have Pirelli PO at moment and am thinking about future choice, not sure if keeping to NO rated tyres has any advantage . Dont think it is an insurance requirment, only a requirment if Porsche Warranty is involved.

Blackcircles are cheaper for Mich pilot sport 4, just compared with cost co

Replaced front and rear pads, discs and sensors.
There was plenty of meat left on the old (6.5 year old), but not enough, in my opinion, to be safe for a couple of track days where I need to travel home afterwards safely.
Patt, going to do mine soon, when replacing rear do you have to do anything regarding electric hand brake, thought i read somewhere about setting a gap ??. thanks

just checked out their service costs, very reasonable, shame they are 160 miles away

Funny, untill reading this thread, i didnt realise all the above parts( moospeed) painted that i have were extras, i've never paid any attention to having a white rear valance. Just checked my options list and it all comes under EXTERIOR PACKAGE PAINTED and INTERIOR PACKAGE PAINTED options. I do like the white interior bits . Learnt something today already and its only 07:00.

Looks great, and your right, 981's do look good in White, but i am biased🙂. I also have the pleasure of white side vents. Sometimes think it needs a red roof, to match my seat belts. Do like the Red and White combination. Have fun

For anyone thinking of changing their wheel on their 981 ( cant think why, love the sport wheel ) their is a usefull short video on Youtube by an Ausie called Peter Fritz. he did it in literally 10 mins, no adaptor or anything used , sorry havn't attached link
-
yes will look them up in 2 years time i think, only an hour away, means mine would have been £415 inc brakes and vat, not £495
-
andygo, had that done 2 years ago, and think it was £750 , for exactly above, inc plugs
-
For anyone in Chichester/Portsmouth area, just had a Minor service done at Autotechnics Porsche specialist, ( next to Harbour Cars ), it was £495, inc Brake fluid change. Was warned i need to prepare myself for next one, Major, with plugs, Belt, PDK Fluids. My wife recons £1500, i am going for £1200 ,haha.

I realise I need to go back to school as I obviously can’t add 12 to 2014 and get the right answer. Think will do next year as my gear changes are smooth at the moment. Thanks for all your comments

yes thats true, why put off the inevitable.

My 981s is 2014 (63) , with 28000 miles , am i correct in what i read that the PDK oil should be done at 12 yrs or 120,000 miles. Even though mine is 12 yrs, 28000 miles seems a little low in comparison to the top end 120K. I know what most will say, cheaper than a gearbox, etc. Has anyone changed theirs and noticed the oil a bit suspect (colour) , or changed it and thought it didnt need it????

Hi withy these were mine after car was covered over our last hot period. Had them polished out and results are as yours are so you did a good job. Like you say only really noticeable when lights are on. He hand polished them and it literally took a whole day and nakered fingers. Think machine polishing is way to go as did my golf couple of months ago with a £8 kit off Temu and they came up great . That was with a ceramic wipe afterwards

a PSE question
in 981
Posted
Another exhaust question😀 Is it correct to say the PSE is loudest when the engine is at running temperature. Im certain mine is much more noticible when hot, and when turning off and back on it is obvious difference.
