Coming in at £1350 in brake fluid and spark plugs. Might be cheaper as I need to query the 'drain cleaning'....on a Cayman 😁

I rang around a few OPCs and only one other came with a similar quote. Others ranged from £1500-1700

Use Brookspeed if you on South coast. Mine was £750 ish Inc plugs, and brake fluid in march. Don't get this using of OPC's when they are nearly twice the price. Don't affect Warranty if Porsche parts are used, and they did.

  2. Been out in the lovely weather today and decided to have a play with Sport+. A question, had it in manual and was nearly red lining it , I was experiencing quite violent gear changes, is this right. It was normal up to this point and fine after coming out of sport+. Thanks

Interesting.  Been advised the exhaust manifold flanges need some TLC and pot 3 needs a coil pack.

Was it the exhaust flange nuts dissolving !!  OPC picked it up on mine when had MOT, wanted a huge amount of £££ to change 4 fixings , have got the bits to do, but not the time yet

  6. Reading this thread made me think about my 3rd party warranty, which is due for renewal in a couple of months. So i e-mailed them specifically asking if Active engine mounts are covered and reply was yes 🙂,   what with the other specific parts that are covered, £200/hr+vat labour, no excess, no consequential failure, wear/tear, etc.  it seems to almost be mirroring a OPC one. Hopefully wont have to try it, but i have done all i can to try and secure decent cover

Hmm. Had a look. Valve is sticky. First part of movement is ok, when the push rod is extended then it becomes stuck and needs a good amount of force to move it back. I noticed the other day a loud ‘Ping’ which just have been when the spring released and it went back to resting position. So not sure a ball joint or actuator will sort this.. need to get the root cause of the sticking sorted

Hi withy, did you manage to fix your exhaust

  8. Just got back from Rhodes, Just up the road from where we stayed in Faliraki was a bar, JD Friends, which had a collection of Porches, including a rather nice 914, with a US body kit which changed it from an ugly duckling into something special. Also a few tasty Harleys,  my type of Bar. Also inquired at our hotel about cost of a Box (987) for the day, it was 250 Euros,  went and got another beer instead.🙂

  9. Reading back through some postings about using Trombone cleaners. I previously asked whether the cleaner came out the bottom after feeding it in, and apparantly not. If this is the case, how do you know if you are not just compacting any crud that is in drain, then making it worse??. I know their are 4 drains to check.   cheers
