I think I'd be far happier with a 718S than anything with a NA flat 6. Or wait for an electric Cayman which can't be far away.

Don’t say that. I was hoping everyone hated it. I can then get one at a reasonable price.Love an unloved Porsche..

There was some minor damage to the back bumper when I got the car. I also grazed the front bumper on the first day of ownership. I couldn't find reverse & grounded against a kerb. Now both ends of the car are good as new. They were insignificant blemishes but I my eye was drawn to them. Now perfect.

Hope you get such a pleasing result. What are you having done?

Similar work, damaged the rear bumper myself so that needs doing, thought might as well get the road rash and stone chips sorted. They said silver is difficult to match but fingers crossed 🤞

I collected my car from the bodyshop this afternoon. Very happy, all ship shape & Bristol fashion. Next stop Precision Porsche on Monday. Lots of lovely new parts to be fitted. I'm going to enjoy this motor when summer starts.

Mine is in for painting, what did you need to get done?

So, worked on my roof again - funny, as this is kind of what I expected when purchasing a used ragtop car!-)

I found the clamshell rail guide, it was stuck at the end of the rail towards the front of the car (you can't see that with the roof in service position). It had come partly out of the rail and then wedged between the liner and the rail. I managed to free it using a screwdriver and a hammer... Pushed in the right position and connected the clamshell arm.

When closing the roof today I again heard a "pop" right at the end of the roof closing procedure - the clamshell arm went too far and popped out of the guide, just as before.

It seems that the issue is that the clamshell arm will move too far forward. How to rectify this?

One side is okay so my guess is alignment. Why would it pop out one side but not the other?Check the ball joint on the side that pops out.

Actually try this..Take the arm of and leave the ball joint in place. Then screw the arm back in until the hole at the other end lines up and connect that end.

    good luck

I think it's because it's pre 2000 which seems to default to £50 regardless of make or model. That's my theory anyway.

Stick your reg in now.Mines gone up a couple of grand since I last checked👍

I used to own a 986 3.2S Boxster and a 996 911 Carrera. Two different driving experiences, the Boxster far and away was the fun drive of the two and I kept it much longer than the 911.

Do like the 996.1..Don’t like the update style headlights on the 996.2.

Tried to fit serpentine belt BUT the replacement belts are far  too small , both ordered using my registration Gates belt 6PK 2115 and Dayco belt 6PK 2115 ,when i removed the belt currently on my car it’s a Dayco 6PK 2160 ,?????

How did you get on with the 2160 ? If you don’t mind me asking.

I thought they were designed so they only fitted one way? Probably wrong but when I did mine I didn't notice any problems.

Thanks, so did I but after fitting and turned on seems that the driver side has the cobs top and bottom, near side cob left and right? Any way just went for a drive and errors on the dash when they flicker so I must have done something wrong.
