@Liberty good to hear they worked out in the end. Did you do anything different, or just sprinkle some fairy dust?

No idea why it works now and not the first time I tried.Maybe the update disc needs to go in twice to complete?

Just turned on the ignition, put the disc in,pressed confirm update,a few seconds later it said install map cd and that was it.Works fine 👍

As it wont soak in as much, you could probably just use a leaf blower or go on a 2 minute drive to blow it all off before drying the rest of the car.

I tend to do this anyway to clean up the brakes, rotate the wheels so I can clean the tyre section touching the floor and the top of the wheel barrel can become the bottom for ease of cleaning angle.

Good call @Jason986S It’s more a case of when we have a bit of rain when out or whatever the roof will stay wet for  longer if proofed, I prefer not bothering so the roof can be stowed away sooner. As I say I’ve used the  fabsil gold and it looks good when done...

Drove mine with the top down for the first time since I bought it 4 months ago (definite grounds for a ban from the forum there - Or at least a written warning...?).  In my defence, the weather has been pretty chilly since December........

First impressions are.... well, I think you can guess!  Wow, what a car, I loved it before (obviously) and I love it even more now.  The thing that did surprise me is that the engine and exhaust noise didn't seem much louder than with the top up, until I went under a bridge and gave it some beans...  Also, mine hasn't got a wind deflector thingy, but there wasn't really much buffeting and my hair barely moved at all...

Just to clarify, I was driving the car to my Dad's house on the other side of Peterborough to sort out some basic food supplies for him (he's 92, and house bound), and I only put the top down on the way back.

You should have done that before posting a pic with rusty discs😂well worth getting the wind deflector so you can have the same rattle the rest of us have! Well some like me who are okay with one rattle in the cabin.I know they are silly money for what they are but worth it..

If it helps I remember: 22lock (two to lock).

It's been posted on here that on the 987 (maybe other models too) it's easy to inadvertently operate the key remote whilst in the pocket and walking away from the car.

Tell me about it!! I switched out the buttons for some that take more pressure..

Have you watched any YouTube vids.? I seem to remember there is a vid of a guy swapping his on a 986 in 30 seconds or something, but I couldn't get mine on using this method.

Sorry to sound so vague, but try changing what pully you put the belt on last if you haven't already.

Thanks 🙏 I’ll give that a go maybe in the summer..Oh yeah watched the YouTube many times over.

    Don't think so.

What are you using to turn the adjuster arm? I used a 12" long adjustable spanner (from my plumbing kit) to give me plenty of easy leverage.

24mm socket on a ratchet. I’m wondering If the belt is destroying water pumps tbh. There is plenty of movement in the tensioner that I just don’t know why getting a new belt on should be any problem at all.

Don't think I would do that - sounds a bit like oiling brakes to stop them squealing!

Yeah sorry when I say lube.WD40 silicone type.Wouldn't spray it on the brakes.Promise 🤠
