As a matter of interest, how long does the polytrol treatment last? Just thinking about doing the bulkhead cover where the windscreen wipers are located.

Lasts a couple of years or more on the bulkhead cover , not as long on the window surrounds .Just don't get tempted to put any rubber rubber bits as I did.ooops

    Autoglym'd the roof.

Not tried Autoglym.Any good? What colour? I’ve tried a couple of other makes and fabsil gold.Just got some normal fabsil that has  uv protection. I’ve not really been impressed so far but having a blue roof makes it a little more difficult.

  3. Yeah I’ve used the blue renovo. Its a fairly dark blue when wet and dry is the same I’ll use up the rest but won’t get any more basically because I prefer how the roof looks without it.fabsil also leaves it a lot darker so have given up on that also.If I had a black roof it might be a different story but the blue looks better without in my view.

Have you tried the sterile tablets?Might help with the marks.

  4. Changed my brake fluid after testing.Never changed it myself in the past but noticed the fluid in the lines was in good shape just what was in the reservoir wasn’t.Still a good idea to change it but thought when I test next  to remember that.Or just change every couple of years.

  5. Agree that it’s not easy finding a full set. When you search for summer spec 265 rear it’s  lucky to find two or three options, then you can’t  find the same tyres for the front.I think this is why some  go for a 255 rear.255 in the manual is the winter size rear so should be fine but having said that I want to try the 265.And want the correct load and speed.

Used to work with an Aussie guy.  While he was here him and a couple of others decided to race bikes.

I ended up “on the tools” to help keep the bikes running.  Soon after the first race we got a T-shirt made for the Aussie. “this Australian to be used for demolition purposes only”.

on the back it said “no parts resulting from Aussie handling are to be considered reusable”

    “she’ll be right and a hammer “‘ wasn’t a good mantra.

They come over to the uk and insist on wearing shorts in the middle of winter 🥶 and they don’t shiver,madness..

Good skills - its an often forgotten thing to take these things slow and the tight/lose approach is often a winner. Some folks cant resist just wading in.

Taking time out for a coffee is what usually works for me.If I haven’t already screwed up..

Just a quick update, I've had no luck in finding Mitchelin N rated tyres from the usual suppliers, so I called my local Porsche centre. They have done some searching and have found that Mitchelin are no longer producing N rated tyres for the

Porsche are getting me a quote for Conti's and Bridgestones, but waiting on the tyre supplier to come back to them. Any recommendations one or the other?

Can’t recommend just yet but have you looked at the new Bridgestone Potenza Sport? If you want 265 on the rear? Goodyear asymmetric   5 are my next choice but they are 255 rear, they do start with more tread though,

  9. Won’t the prices being offered take a dive once manufacturing gets back to normal? I think so but maybe not impact our cars as much as some others..

I don't understand this sort of reply to covers. Had my 987.2 under a cover for 3 and a bit years with no issues.

    cover ONLY after a wash/dry

do not over tighten the straps

    remove in high winds

keep the car polished and waxed.

    it's great!

For me it’s a bit like waterproof breathable coats..BS.(ok a waxed Barbour maybe)With you on the polish and waxing.

  11. Good luck finding one that doesn’t.I used to use one and think it does as much harm as good tbh.Might be tempting getting one that just covered the rooftop but haven’t tried any so far..You can have mine if you like?got stitched in mirror covers etc.FOC.

  12. Same issue with mine today. No water ingress in my 5 years ownership.Heavy rain in SE England yesterday and today I have a really wet carpet just along the bottom edge of the drivers door carpet. I lifted up the internal carpet and it’s dry.

Can I replace a gasket or is silicone the best way to fix?

    Any advice would be wonderful...
