I may have found one - not going to jinx it by sharing just yet...
its a 3.4 and ok miles.
Its PDK and has chrono, cruise - pretty sure it doesn't have PSE, doesnt have Xenons (as no chrome bumper nipples 🤣) , and no sports seats.
Will the standard headlights be woeful ?, my 987.1 has Xenon and they are pretty good of course not PDSL good...
Also its not stretching the budget so thats a plusThe one on FB?

Whats the general consensus on tyres? The Potenza's that are on the car need to be replaced before the next MOT really so looking to get some new tyres over the coming weeks. Need 19" tyres so have been pulled towards the Conti SC7 or Eagle F1 SuperSport both about the same price really. I dont do the milage to justify the extra £300 a set for the Michelin PS4S although they are a pretty good tyre.
I fitted Yokahama Advan's on my previous 987.2 in 19" size and found them a good balance at a reasonable price - i don't track my car and aren't a driving god so they worked pretty well for me. Fitted Avon's on a couple of cars too and thought they gave decent performance too

rough idle and power loss could be a number of things, but usually coil packs and plugs are the easiest and cheapest thing to change. A code reader should tell you if you have a misfire on a cylinder - if you swap the coil pack with another cylinder and try again, if the code moves, you know the coil pack has failed

Took it for a drive, got some photos in the empty car park and then had to change a headlamp bulb - I will never lose the feeling that I'm going to break something getting that fixing back in place

Even in basic spec what should I expect?
The 'S' sticker on the door seems to come and go in the photos....
Nice colour and wheels look awesome

Decent mot history and low miles for the age, sad times - on the plus looks like the passengers weren't injured (massive assumption) which is the main thing
-
Based on mechanical knowledge - my diagnosis is that it's feked!
Maybe worth £4k all in one piece? Insurer's are going to kill it unfortunately

If you haven’t already got some of these @944GS, they go into the jack location, a quarter turn holds them in and you have a pad that protects the car and the aircon pipes.
Guessing you need these for the 987 as well ?

Mice in car
in 987

when I had my mouse problem I shyate my two cats in the garage. As half Persian “lovvies” they just sat on top of the car and stared at the mice.
brief kidnapping of neighbours cats was more productive.
a later cat that we found as a stray kitten would have been awesome. Turns out he was a Norwegian forest cat (Maine coon family) a popular “shipboard cat” because they are murdering b*st*rds.
He liked pigeons and rabbits.
Air tag so we can track the little fecker down when he goes on a field trip!
Nothing is safe with this one - pigeons, mice, rats, any type of birds - he had a taste for Robins earlier in the year so our christmas cards were ruined!

I can hire out this little rat killer out at very reasonable rates - he’s prolific and proud of his work!

and chocolate - traps in the garage as well is the only way to ensure you get them before they do too much damage

Wet Carpet
in 987
4 hours ago, John987 said:Hi
Are door/roof seals expensive to replace on a 987 gen 2. Ive got condensation and a damp drivers side carpet. Im using towels but havent lifted the carpet yet. Thered a drip from the joint above the drivers door window where the roof joins the windscreen. Not much but I guess over time it might soak a carpet. The damp seems to be behind the drivers seat rarher that in front. Do I just change the.door/roof seal?
Any advice welcomed
John M
appreciate this is teaching you to suck eggs, but i would be surprised if a drip made a significant wet patch - have you checked and cleared all the drain holes front and rear? Are the door bottoms dry? they are the usual suspects for substantial leaks.
Others have suggested gummi-fledge on the door rubbers which can help stop leaks coming though - might be worth a try before replacing the door seals?
As you have found out, the sponge under the carpet can hold a LOT of water - so can take a long time to dry out if you can't get it out of the car.

I'm putting together a spare bulb kit.
To save me getting one out for a look, could you tell me if the pins are offset or straight on the indicator & stop light bulbs ??
Ta in advance.
To be honest, get the halfords spare bulb kit for your car- about £6-£7 and comes in a hard case with sponge holders -I was surprised at the value

Got my insurance renewal of £483. So £30 less than last year.... a quick look at the comparison sites and it appears to be the cheapest quote as well. Which is still a cheaper premium than the £1000 Alfa GT was... mad world
Interesting that the comparison sites pre fill in the estimated value, got from between £18k and £22k depending on the site #Oldoutyaaaaand
Probably helps that you are really old too - lowers the premium 😛
I looked at a multi-car policy at the weekend and the insured valuation was £16k - so a potential profit to be had !

Thanks, I've had a look at various wheels and I think I have the base wheel from a 987. It looks like my Boxster S wheels should be 7J not 6.5.
Mattman, could I just run 5mm spacers on the front?
I wouldn't say for sure - @ATM is the king of trying out different wheels that aren't designed to fit

5mm spacers should give you clearance needed?
