  1. Any sign of other air leaks, cracked hoses etc?  I appreciate its a PITA to trace them all through. I had a spilt hose on the Z4 which led to fluctuating idling and was a simple replacement to cure.

Good luck - sounds like you've tried the obvious stuff, hopefully the code reader will provide some answers!

Plugs are all new. Will order a set of coil packs as suggested on another thread. Euro car parts if I remember right for the best deal. Should have renewed them when I had them off and was doing the manifolds a few months ago. My logic was that it was Driving OK before as far as I know and therefore be a tight ar*e and leave alone, (apart from my resin repairs).

The law of sods - they won't fail while you have it apart and it's easy, they wait for a bit, as it's so much more fun to have to go back in and get dirty again

    No remote option.

Also, I know you put it int the text of your post, but can you put your location in your profile?  I was about to recommend someone near Maidenhead to help you, just the 500 miles or so away....

But would you walk 500 miles, and would you walk 500 more?

sorry - I’ll get my coat

Mattman42 - will negotiate a reduction and try to do it myself 😀.

Red Rocket - don’t know exactly where it is yet but doesn’t sound as if it’s along stitch line. If I decide to buy will give it a go myself and bring in a pro if I c*ck it up!

    good man! :)

I got the best results with this kit - it was a pain to mix the colour match for a red leather, but for black, it was a lot easier

Booked mine in for some TLC. Firstly a set of Conti SC7's being fitted, and secondly the crossover pipes being replaced. Its been using coolant slowly over that last few months and damp pipes were spotted last time it went for a service, I replaced the coolant cap with the latest part but there was no residue on the old one and its not made a difference, so pipes it is! What is surprising is the price difference I was quoted to replace them. 1 specialist quoted £1719+VAT while my local quoted £850+vat. Needless to say I've opted for the latter price! Near enough 2k for the tyres and Crossover pipes + some other small jobs, but its a great car that thoroughly deserves it

don't you just love Porsche tax!  :(

  7. I've used a couple of the repair kits with various results. I'd say you probably won't completely hide the tear, but you will be able to make it so it's not obvious or catches you eye. If you its the sort of thing that will bother you, I'd recommend getting a quote from a professional and negotiate it off the price.

Interesting that you feel more at risk from car doors than from moving traffic entering / exiting the car park.

It’s all one way there and slow so was hoping there was less chance of it being crashed into then having doors opened on it - its a lottery!

  9. I usually try and avoid supermarket car parks in the Box, but if I do, I always try and find a space that minimises the chances of damage.

found one today on the end of a row and  despite what it looks like, I was just about within the lines at the front - this is a single row of spaces so they are a bit longer than usual 😁

My mistake, I thought you were talking about removing the snorkel from the air intake. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ahh - i've done that as well - I think its all pretty much a placebo effect to be honest - i think it adds a little more induction noise, more obvious with the roof up with the baffle plate removed, i don't think it makes any difference to performance personally, but it makes my inner child smile and thats worth it.

Best thing is you don't have to break anything, so you can put it all back to standard if needed

Would be interested to know if you notice a difference.

i didn't appear to have too much much build up in the pipes, but they do seem to flow a bit quicker than before. As long as they don't overflow, thats the main thing.

I don't have the grilles on mine - so they have gone walkies sometime in the past

  12. Not sure if its the camera angle or the pinkish colour that makes the front end look like it's been stung by a bee? A bit 'puffy'?

Apart from that it's a nice looking thing, but I think I prefer the looks of the Lotus Eletre. Just need to find £100k down the back of the sofa....

Took delivery of the new (to me) Weekend entertainment, drove it, filled it with Shell 99, drove it some more, figured out how the stereo works, drove it again and got it dirty.  I’m a happy man…IMG_2024-02-10-174634.thumb.jpeg.bb5481ec208b229e0e9ddb9311b003f3.jpeg

Congrats and welcome! Just in time to enjoy spring and summer

The engine on the .2 is very flexible which combined with the PDK box makes for effortless driving when you aren't "on it". It seems to pull cleanly even when in 7th and has a lovely growl from as low as 2500 rpm that isn't intrusive. The seats are far superior to the 986, hence many owners of the latter changing to the newer ones. Slightly more space is also good.

I am sure others will think of more, I am still sleep deprived.

When i got mine, it had to be a PDK for the same reason - it really is great for all conditions.

Did a 480mile round trip from Hampshire to Manchester last week on the same day - 3.5hrs up, 4.5hrs back - was very comfy, easy drive and averaged 38mpg. Cruise would have been nice to have, but for the amount of times i use it for that sort of journey, its not worth adding.

Good man, you know it makes sense 👍 I've never understood why anyone would opt for the PDK option on a sports car (or any car, for that matter). The 6-speed manual 'box on a 981 is just about perfect as far as I'm concerned, and just adds to the whole driving experience IMHO. When I was looking at buying mine I only looked at manual cars, and if I remember correctly the split was around 50/50, which really surprised me.

Each to his own, obviously, but in this case I am definitely right 😂

Come on @Davey P - you chose the wrong roof, so anything you say after that is just noise........

     🤪
