As said above, prioritise.
All though Pauls report on the car may have come as a bit of a shock, it's far better knowing what you are dealing with than blissful ignorance biting you on the bum and perhaps even exacerbating problems.
You can either sell the car on and perhaps take a bit of a hit, or as @Daboy3000 is doing, fix things as finances allow and get the car back up to a good standard with the peace of mind that will eventually bring.
I'm assuming Paul advised on whether or not the car is worth further expenditure, or if best to cut losses?

Funny they don’t always fill every car up the same in that case.
Oil changes aren’t taught until year 19. 😉

If only there had been a "How to" for checking the drains........

I really have no idea how it works tbh, but I'm pretty sure anyone buying the "lifetime" will get their moneys worth. Hardware is probably more likely to fail before it becomes impossible to check the car remotely.

But how would BMW protect themselves from people just registering for 1 month and then cancelling?
Different code for full activation.

Totally agree, except it’s not “lifetime”, it is “for as long as it remains technically viable to provide”. That suggests it regularly checks with the mother ship to make sure I can have heated seats. And when we are on 7g or when BMW turn off that server, then it’s becomes no longer technically viable.
I am ok with the model and agree 100 % on retrofit - makes and car have any spec that a 2nd or subsequent owner would like, but once I commit I want them heated seats still working on that very last journey to the crusher in 25 years time.
I would of thought once activated, that was it, not that it continuously needs a code resent.

For example BMW. They will do OTA updates to enable the heated seats in your new BMW. Only £15 per month..
Which lets you trial them. Then if you find they are for you a one off purchase gives you them for the cars lifetime, far cheaper than retrofitting. 😉

I found them the best wipers I'd ever had on any car, even almost 3 years old there was never the hint of a squeak.
Got brand new Bosch aeros on the current car and imo they are cr*p..

Ah, fat B'stard size. 😉

I believe so.
Blades on coloured key keep chipping

Lynn bought me those when I got the 718, despite me telling her not to. Had mine almost 3 years and can't recall any chipping. I sold them on here iirc.
