Highly recommended. I'm so loving the warmth.
Hi
I have 987 seats and from what I can tell they are even more of a faff to do than the 986 seats. I would do it though!

Hi
Excellent video. I would actually do it, but I have 987 seats and I think they are even more of a faff!

Hiya
Those look good. I did something similar earlier in the year.

Hi
I have a Gunsons "trackrite". Have used it many times to check and set toe on my cars. Not a replacement for a full geo, but a very useful tool.
And surprisingly accurate if used correctly.

Hi
Funny you post this. I had the top down last night and my daughter commented that the heater works really well and all it needs now is heated seats. I have never wanted heated seats before in a car for even a moment. But as I sat there I thought actually maybe it might be nice. Must be getting older. Well, we all are!

Hi guys,
I washed the Boxster today, and claybared a front wing. Something I have never done before as I am not one for car washing/cleaning. I cannot believe how smooth it came up. So applied a winter coating of wax to it. Now as soon as there is a decent spell of weather will do the rest of the car.

Hi, do you have a flat side on pic of these please? The one thing that looks a bot uncomfortable to me on the 986 are the side vents. I'm undecided on these though!

Thankfully the drain was blocked, used a aerial type magnetic thing to fish it out. Still dry inside as well. Phew😄
.
Only one key! That was a lucky escape. get another one ASAP even if it does not have the remote keyfob.

Hi
I fitted to seatbelt stop buttons, no more fishing for seatbelt buckles! Am also going to fit some to the 993 after 10 years of fishing. Also fitted LED festoon bulbs to the F/Trunk lights. I burnt my hand on the trunk one at the weekend while adjusting the parking sensor wiring. I didn't realise they get so hot! Also fitted a Garmin mini dashcam. Will have to do a final tidy on the wire for that.

Hi
Thank you for being so open with the price you paid. Is a Boxster chassis stiff enough to race or does the roll cage fix that issue?
All the best

Hi
I'm curious to know the ballpark price for a car like this, ie non runner possible trashed engine........
Best of luck with the project!

Some more alcantara covering. Some of the centre console bits and the dashboard strip above the dials
Also sorted the mesh speaker grills ready for when my adaptor arrives from @SuperPaulie
Hi
I have his front adapters, I thought the rears came with grilles? I could be wrong! Did you consider leather for the door pockets, or you just prefer alacantra?

Good call. I see DV have a set or rear struts off an '02 car which will hopefully be lower miles than mine but I'm going to see how the MOT goes before starting to spend money. If it fails on major suspension bits it will be off the road for a while (may be even for the winter ☹️) whilst I gather bits and do the work.
DV will give you the reg No of the car the parts came off of and then you can look up it's MOT history and check milage etc, just to satisfy yourself.
Best of luck

Hi
If you are careful you can buy cheap secondhand suspension parts (coffin arms struts etc) off ebay or from Douglas Valley. With the struts especially important to know the mileage of the car they came off of. I bought a 45k mile set when I did a cheap suspension refresh.

Hi
Personally form what I can see I think you can just replace the seals. Having said that i have not had this particular issue before so am not 100%.

Hi
Mirror covers come off as follows.......
Position mirror so its as far out as possible on the outside edge. Get fingers under and prise it off. It will unclip, but be careful. The more fingers the better. Then there will be three small T10 screws visible. Undo these and the cover is loose. Also pull off the mirror heating wires. The cover is a tight wiggle to get off, if you move the mirror mounting disc around as required it will come off (and go back on). Much easier than removing the whole wing mirror.
The actual wing mirror chassis is aluminium and it will be powdery from corrosion. I brushed it off with a small brass wire brush, then sprayed it with Dinitrol to keep future corrosion at bay.
Best of luck

Hi
Painted my other wing mirror. Did a better job than the first one. My experience showing

Hi
I'd like to see some pic of those on the car also.

Hi
Fitted the LED bulbs into my newly wired up DRL's (foglamps) and painted a wing mirror. Now I know the covers come off without removing the actual whole unit the other one should be easier!

Hi, yes same with mine, like a patchwork quilt in that respect. Both of them.

Hi
Sanded down my passenger wing mirror. Tomorrow will take it off, finish the sanding and then paint it.

What have YOU done to your 986 today ?

Hi, yes the standard seats are surprisingly, and upsettingly heavy. I remember lifting my big bolster 993 sports seats out for the first time and being absolutely shocked at the weight. If I did not love those seats so much they would have been gone years ago. I actually toyed with the idea of having a fixed frame made up that would take the soft parts of the seat and end up looking the same, but weigh a lot less. But I'm pretty much over it now.
