So we did this exact job yesterday... we applied heat to the old sensor thread for about 30 seconds and they came out easily.

Connector... if you've got car jacked up get under (head towards the front) and the connector was reasonably easy to find... just trace the wire. There is also a little plastic clip you need to remove use ... put it in the same position on new sensor vs. Old one by laying them side by side.

Cheers Laney456, just popped indoors for a cuppa before continuing and seen your post. I'd previously split the cat to rear section on the right so that side was fine but just tried splitting the same section on the left and the 1st bolt has already snapped 🙄. Shouldn't be a prob as I'm going to change the manifold and cat anyway and can deal with the removing the remainder of the bolt once it's all off. But currently struggling with undoing the 2nd sensor on the left (nearest the rear), it's well seized in there. Literally just dug out my blowtorch to try some heat. I'll have another go at tracing the wiring back. Did you locate where the rear airing disappears off to?

  2. Hi all. I'm looking to fit some Topgear sports headers on my gen 2 Boxster S.

I didn't want to get half way through the job and come across seized bolts so I've removed greased and retightened all bar 2 of my infamous manifold bolts (my 3/8 drive knuckle and extension bars arrived yesterday so will hopefully do the remainder today), luckily no issues so far.

Ideally, if possible if the wiring allows, I'd prefer to undo the sensors (providing they're not seized of course) and leave them attached to the car then screw them back in the new headers once fitted, or if that is not possible to disconnect them from the loom and then remove them in situ on the original headers and transfer them to the replacement headers once the original headers are off? If the latter option then can anyone advise me where the connectors are for the O2 sensors? I've tried following the loom with my fingers but it just disappears out of reach.

There are several videos on YT but they are all for Gen 1s.

Any info and/or advice most welcome.

    Cheers in advance

Finally !!!!.......managed to get out on a fast road run in the boxster  :drive: ....and in a group which I've not done for years ....great to get out with a bunch of guys who are not afraid to drive these cars as they should be  :thumb:

So the NW 911UK crew met up at various points to make it over for a run around the Forest of Bowland with fish and chips in Settle as the destination.....

initially I followed Harrie in his Exige 410 :cigar: for a gentle amble up the M6......the noise from that thing made the boring part of the trip very entertaining 😁

....the final meet up point was Booths in cl*theroe to empty bladders

We then proceeded on the route proper.......too fast to safely take any pics but lets just say I had fun following the GT3 Touring  :thumb:

I was a fantatic run out.....you really can't beat a fast B road run, with great weather, light traffic on unfamiliar undulating and twisty roads (the weather had been mixed earlier but dry and it was  effectively an evening run)......reminds you what driving is really all about away from the traffic light grand prix's 😉 .....being back in convoy at pace really is an experience to be shared, as much as I love a solo run there is something added with the shared experience......

The run back was a little more gentile but great none the less as the sun set over the scenary on offer......we even managed the obligatory Ribble Viaduct pics....

Here's hoping for more of the same this summer

ps big up to Frank who showed what a bit of Aussie enthusiasm and a £5k boxster can do   :o

Sounds like fun. Looking forward to my mini Wales road trip in a couple of weeks, hope the weathers good for it. Is that Jasper Carrot and his other half in the Exige with the matching sunglasses?? 😉

Couldn't you just move the car instead though?

Sadly the wifes Jimny has to sit furthest from the tree😠. I have my Mondeo nearest, and that is also covered. As the weather's going to be good for a few days I thought I'd leave the cover off, and this is what I get after 1 night 🙄

  5. So, I've seem umpteen posts on the best way to clean the hood of your Boxster, but none on how to clean it on the inside??? I know it's not something you tend to do but looked up at mine today (apologies for not having it down when the sun was out) and I thought hmmmm, that needs a clean. Best way I can describe it is it looks like sweat stains on a black T-shirt. Anyone know the best way to clean the inside? Or is it just a case of soapy water and a brush? The outside looks tiptop. 6. Isn't it just a nice feeling to have new rubber boots?? 😍 One thing about now having the Boxster is I can't swap the fronts and rears around as I normally do on my usual front wheel drive cars. Jontt, if you see this can I ask that you drop me a PM? I'm after some advice re a rear spoiler same as yours. Your message box may be full. Cheers...Rob (Gramps)
