Chris at Exel would definitely be able to do Porsche platinum with a white lip👍
👍 I've had a local guy recommended to me by a guy I know who works in a garage and uses them. They've come back to £70 a wheel, which sounds very reasonable, good reviews so looking promising 🙂

Is it white, or a diamond cut edge to the rim?
Yes hard to tell, but either would be good. Asking around to see what I can get done

Porsche platinum is the name of that colour 👆
I think that would be your best option if you don’t go black and yes maybe with a white lip.
platinum def coming to the fore now for me. Found this as what seems to be a good example with the white lip you mentioned

I’m not really a fan of black wheels at all,but on a white car they look good.
I have black wheels on my guards red cayman.still not 100 percent sure, but they are growing on me.
Saw a pic of some nice wheels on a GT3, from the blurb that went with it it sounded like it was the standard colour, but not been able to find the name of that colur or a better pic 😌

It is tough one as your car has got the black and white theme like mine.
I had a set of loan wheels in silver and although I like the style of the alloys I don’t think the silver finish did my car any favours .
Although some may disagree but I think if you don’t want black then maybe Porsche platinum would work.
Maybe post a photo from the side and ask someone to photo shop some colour s on for you.
Nice to see what the silver option looks like but I agree that it doesn't enhance or add to the car. I'm tending towards Graphite or gun metal so far. I like the look of your current ones but I'm told I can't have the sport design wheel diamond cut.

Hi All. Don't know how the rest of you guys deal with it but keeping the chrome tips looking "chrome" seems nigh on impossible. My original ones on my gen2 S were tarnished and I wasn't able to get them re-chromed as the original tips came as one joining on to the 2 pipes. So I bought some replacements with removeable tips that I could get re-chromed if need be, but they obviously soot up in no time and take some cleaning to get back to best. So I thought I'd try some of these cheapo carbon fibre jobbies off of Ali Express. £58 for the pair delivered from China in about 2 weeks. I thought they were worth a punt as my daughter was wondering what I'd wanted for Xmas, so win win, lets see how they last. Also a not that good a quality video of the sound, not that the tips made any difference :). Plus they go ok with the CF spoiler.

I did enquire about something very similar in getting the "small V" sections diamond cut but that was a no no apparently 😌

Hi All. Has anyone tried doing anything different with the Sport Design wheel when they get it refurbed? To me they sometimes just look a bit lost in the wheel arch, at least on my car in white. I feel like they need to stand out a bit more. I thought maybe a metallic black may help, or maybe an anthracite/gun metal, but I'd probably struggle to get centre caps to match. Has anyone tried anything different? Got any pics? Looking to get them refurbed over the winter. TIA

I have a similar set up but with Carnewal 200 cell manifolds and Spyder Valved exhaust . It has two modes Asbo and Hooligan!! Think some of the weekend group will bare testament to that!! Sounds great @Gramps
With PSE off and a light right foot it it can be beautifully quiet when you want it to be. Still sounds good with a heavy right foot and PSE off so win win 🙂

Or hit Amazon or the Bay of E and look to see if there is a snap fastener/popper kit on there which works.
There are some on Amazon supplied with the tool to fit the popper's for less than £20.
Thanks for the reply. I've got the gear for the repair of a normal press stud but the prob with this is that the broken part is within the stitched leather. Have now repaired the existing one but thanks again

It’s dead easy to fix that, you can buy a tool off Amazon for a few quid or call into any upholsterer and they will sort for a few quid, it’s a 5min job

Hi All. Has anyone had the pleasure of getting the seatbelt retaining strap repaired? If so were they able to do it themselves or was it taken to a leather repair specialist?

Apologies in advance if you've already seen this post. I previously posted it as a follow up under another topic but not sure if that limits who sees it so posting as a fresh topic. My boy kindly offered to have a drive of the Porsche earlier this week and suggested I took a couple of drive-by vids. Not the best quality location or conditions. Will get some better footage another time. But this vid does give some idea of the sound with a BMC air filter, Topgear sports manifolds (200 cell cats) and PSE "ON". Quiet as you would like with PSE "OFF", best of both worlds. Now pushing out 344HP/398Nm after a re-map 🙂

If only I thought those manifold bolts would come out easily......
When I done mine I teased each one out gently one at a time. Gave them a squirt of WD40 a few times over the course of a few days then worked on one bolt at a time. Slacken just a bit then tighten, slacken a bit more then tighten less etc giving it more WD40 as it went till the bolt was out,. Then I gave it some copper grease and put it back in. Then done the same with the rest. Didn't try tackling the job till I knew all bolts would come out ok. Luckily enough they all came out ok. Replaced them with stainless steel bolts when done.

No probs and I can see (heard) from the other thread you successfully posted the exhaust vid 🙃
I did indeed 🙂. My boy does a bit of blogging and has lent me a selection of microphones so hoping to get something a bit more decent in the future 👍

Ah. Tried to post the YT link for your opinion and realised where I was going wrong. I was trying to submit via the "other media" option which didn't like it. When I enter just the link in the comments box it goes ok. Thanks for your help 👍

Hi All. Sure it's been raised before but I wanted to upload a video and I can't find the answer. Tried Flickr but you have to join up to upload video. Tried Imgur but BoXa.net doesn't accept the video link. Tried YouTube and the same there. Is there a tutorial on here? Cheers...Gramps

If you've not got a 3.5mm mic-in then you'll need a compatible USB mic. Unfortunately it's never obvious if a generic USB mic will work with camera XYZ, so some Googling of the exact model number and mic suggestions may help find something on Amazon/Ebay. As JonSta mentioned you'll struggle to get a good sound out of the inbuilt one but a bit of fabric may help a little bit.
Yeh, been having a google for an external mic for my model but seems not an option on my model. Even those that do have the option I don't think would work unless they were able to plug in through the protective glass case that is needed to mount the camera? Saw YT vid where the guy used an external mic for his iphone and married it with the video footage. Still looking and will experiment more. Thanks for your input...Rob
