Billzeebub
I have owned four 986 3.2s thus far. Usually seem to average around 25mpg if I just leave computer alone and don't reset. On a longer A-road/motorway trip can see mid 30s. Spirited driving early 20s.

JohnnyUK
27 in the summer and 25 in the winter. Short runs will kill the mpg and winter driving tends to be just that.

K.I.T.T.
http://www.fuelly.com/car/porsche/boxster/2000/ashashymo/521085 The above may be useful. That's my 2.7 over the last 8k-odd miles. My driving is predominantly a mix of 20 miles down the motorway and 15 miles of stop-start on the commute. I rarely do local trips. It does get driven properly though and I've had some fun on the regular Strines runs and roads in the Lake District en route to Cark.

perleman
Far too many variables really to take a meaningful comparison beyond that the range does 15-35 depending on how driven Given that any of them can easily cost £1500 a year in upkeep the fuel cost isn’t such a big factor
EXY
On a PCGB run to Isle of Sky our MY04 2.7 986 averaged 36mpg over 800 miles. NOW I wasn't driving HARD at all but some of the 911 drivers were driving hard AND making progress yet they were averaging 22mpg. Still can't understand how I managed to pass them AND get back to the hotel before them at my sedate speed, perhaps they stopped for fuel AGAIN
S8ked
1998 2.5 with Tiptronic. I did a 300 mile highway road trip from Seattle to Vancouver and back this weekend and got 23.5 MPG. I usually get around 20/21 MPG around town/stop and go driving. BUT, I'm in the U.S. and that MPG figure is in U.S. Gallons. I hope the difference between my seeming low MPG and most of the others listed here is due to you guys in the UK having Imperial Gallons vs my U.S. Gallons. If not, then I REALLY need a tune up....
