Sticky ignition switch

Just been to turn the car over after a few weeks being idle. No issues other than the ignition switch seams sticky and doesn’t spring back from the start point. Tempted to give it a squirt of wd40 but doubt that would be the right thing to do.....any ideas?

That's what I would do, have the same deal with my bikes after a winter lay up. Few ins' and outs' and all good again. Not sure if there are any electrics attached the lock rotation (steering lock?) that would resist movement of the barrel?

It's where I'd start! (excuse the pun)
