½cwt Posted June 4, 2020 Report Share Posted June 4, 2020 It braces the lower side of the rear subframes that arch over the drive shafts and supports the engine under tray. Not sure how much stiffness it adds to the subframes but they must be there for a reason as they are fairly well designed extruded and machines ali, clearly not just some sort of support bracket for an under tray... bally4563 Posted June 5, 2020 Report Share Posted June 5, 2020 The aluminium part and there are two are cross braces and provide support , the mangled bit of tin is the mounting for the under tray, look for drawings of under trays and you should be able to identify it.
